Boy names, struggling!

Like lots of others am struggling with boy names for DS2. We like one for a while then just go off it. The ones that have stayed on the list are

Felix
Caspar
Rocco

Although DH keeps going on and off Felix, in his home country it is really popular and not thought of as a nice name. The pronunciation there is different to how we would use though, the one we would use would be 'Fee lix' not 'Fell ix'.

Any thoughts? Or other suggestions we might like based on these?

Hmm it might be helpful if you tell us some of the names that are definitely off the list, otherwise I think you'll get quite a broad range of suggestions. Is your DH French? What background/accent do we need to be sensitive to?

Lenox
Leon
Nicco

Portugese, for some reason he seems to not like any Portuguese names. I love Ivo but it's vetoed.

I had this issue with DS2 too. Just kept going off names.

I like Felix and Casper. If I had to use one I'd away to Casper. Cas is a handsome nickname too. X

Was convinced we had it with Julian, but for some reason it now makes me feel queasy. Nurse asked me if we had I name when I was in hospital. Went to say it and was like, oh. I don’t like it. I don’t like it at all.

I like Luca and Lucien but really hate Luc/Luke so wouldn't risk it as would inevitably get shortened to that.

I love Casper and Felix. They were on our shortlist for a boy, but we're having a DD.

We also had Zachary, Jack and Luca on our list.

Difficultusername · 20/12/2020 21:46

Also Casper or Caspar? Not sure which spelling I actually prefer tbh.

I’m pregnant with DS2 and having exactly the same problem. Oscar. Rufus. Jasper. Oliver. That’s my shortlist but I’m pretty stuck on Oscar.

Difficultusername · 20/12/2020 21:59

Rufus is brilliant though @Onekidnoclue and I would totally have on the list but DS1 is Rudy and I think that's probably a little bit too confusingly similar to work for us

Thomas/Tomas

Caspar is a completely fab name, very cool and original, also sounds "international". It means "keeper of the treasure". Was on my list for ds.

IckleBear · 21/12/2020 08:55

Cosmo
Silas
Otis
Dylan
Torin

Difficultusername · 21/12/2020 09:01

Cosmo was on the long list! I love, DH is a no.

I do think we looking at names that work well internationally, hence the Felix, Caspar and Rocco.

Keep them coming!
