What do you think of Wilder for a boy? Do you think it works? I also like Ricer too☺️.

For some reason I kinda like Wilder Blush

Ricer is stupid though. River is nice.

gingerbreadfox · 18/12/2020 17:04

Makes me think of Deontay Wilder

LateMumma · 18/12/2020 17:05

LateMumma · 18/12/2020 17:06

Wilder, obvs!

AuntyPasta · 18/12/2020 17:08

Heath?
Asher?

DrDetriment · 18/12/2020 17:08

It's awful. Sorry. And River is far too try hard as well.

Housewife2010 · 18/12/2020 17:09

Grater?

peapotter · 18/12/2020 17:17

You’ll get people struggling to pronounce it

Wild-er like in the wild
Or
Will-der

Obv from the spelling it’s the former, but because Will is such a common name, and will possibly be his nickname, I reckon there’ll be a lot of confusion.

florascotia2 · 18/12/2020 17:18

As a surname, it's fine.
As a first name, it tends to make one want to say 'Wilder than who?' or 'Wilder than what?'
But your choice, obviously.

VenusClapTrap · 18/12/2020 17:29

Wilde-beest

Toomanyparsnips · 18/12/2020 17:33

I think it sounds nice, but it's one of those names that sets kids up to fail in a way, like Fury or Storm. Little Wilder might just turn out t be really meek and timid.

generallygenial · 18/12/2020 17:33

Elder?

VenusClapTrap · 18/12/2020 17:37

Geert Wilders is not a nice association.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 18/12/2020 17:38

River is fine - a bit hippy/arty but useable (and a guilty pleasure of mine, I think it's lovely). Wilder is not nice, sorry - it's okay as a surname, but not as a first name (what if he's shy and not a party animal like the name suggests?)

LassFromLeedsWithALustForLife · 18/12/2020 17:38

As in Gene? It’s a no from me.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 18/12/2020 17:40

Love the pp suggestion of Heath as well.

KirstenBlest · 18/12/2020 17:40

Is DC1 called Wild or Wilde?

QuantumJump · 18/12/2020 17:41

I would worry about naming my child this in case he turned out to be a bit of a handful. Wilder by name, wilder by nature!

I do like River though. Not Ricer Grin

Aubergina · 18/12/2020 17:43

I don't like Wilder, but River is lovely. Reminds me of River Phoenix

DuckonaBike · 18/12/2020 17:44

Why just Wilder? Why not Wildest? Grin

River is OK.

Will is nice.

DonnaScozzese · 18/12/2020 18:01

Ricer 😂. Very glad that was a typo and you didn't have to be told you are nuts.

Wilder... hmmm. Like it as a middle name but you're setting him up for a life time of hassle.
