Marion would be my favourite from your girls. Your list is perfectly nice but this one stands out as being the right mix of underused but well known name.

I really like Isaac with Hazel. Similar "z" sound gives them a commonality but still quite different names.

Ah, thank youSmile

I think all of the boys names go well but if i'm honest I prefer Edgar to Edmund and Evan to Euan :)

For the girls i think Lucy, Sarah and Sophie are nice just a little more boring than Hazel, Helene is nice but not convinced it goes as well, Joanna and Marion are the best and I'd edge Marion in front. I know a Hazel and Heather which I think also goes well if you don't mind a shared initial.

calimommy · 15/12/2020 15:27

I like your girl names but none jump out at me, I like PP idea of Heather and Hazel. Or
Hazel and Fleur?
From your list Joanna and Marion are the nicest.

Boys names are good, Finlay is the top there I think 👍

bridgetreilly · 15/12/2020 15:32

Hazel and Joanna feel like the same 'type' of name to me, so that would be my preference. And I always like Isaac.

Other ideas:

Hazel and Linnet
Hazel and Lark
Hazel and Chloe
Hazel and Juniper

Hazel and Robin
Hazel and Richard
Hazel and Peter
Hazel and Philip

M0rT · 15/12/2020 16:16

I like Isaac on its own and it goes well with Hazel.
Lucy and Sophie are the nicest of your girls names but none are bad.
I prefer Helen to Helene. I'll also suggest Edel as the sister of a Hazel I know.

Growingyou · 15/12/2020 17:32

Unhelpful, but I love your choices! If I had to pick, girls = Sarah, Sophie or Joanna. I adore all of the boys names.

choirmumoftwo · 15/12/2020 17:34

How about Rowan? Works for either sex and a great match with Hazel.

Abracadabra12345 · 15/12/2020 18:02

I immediately thought of Heather from reading the title of this post, then saw that you have listed names. I see Heather has been mentioned by others so maybe something to think about?

I like all your boy names equally. Joanna is nice

SabrinaThwaite · 15/12/2020 18:12

I knew someone with three girls called Hazel, Heather and Holly.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 15/12/2020 18:37

Of your choices Joanna works best with Hazel for me, followed by Marion (although this could have spelling issues with Marian/Marianne).

From your boys list Edmund works best with Hazel imo, followed by Isaac (although this is currently a bit popular).

I don't like the suggestions of Heather, it's too similar to Hazel for me. If you like a botanical theme - Bryony, Laura, Rosalind/Rosamund or maybe even Fern would be more subtle. Celia or Tasmin would also be nice imo.

Other boy ideas: Frederick, Robert (Robin), Peter, Phillip, Matthew, John, Christopher, Evan, Owen.

diddlediddle · 15/12/2020 21:37

I like hazel with Joanna

EileenGC · 15/12/2020 21:47

Marion is such a beautiful name.

Hazel and Marion would be my top pair.
Hazel and Sophie also sounds great.

I'm not keen on your boy names...

How about Adam? Theodore? Ethan?

DontStopThinkingAboutTomorrow · 15/12/2020 22:10

I like both lists, apart from Edmund. Just reminds me of the boy from the lion, the witch and the wardrobe!

I wouldn't do another "H" name, so Helene out for me. I think from your list I'd go with Sophie or Finlay (although be prepared for people to nn him Finn)

Macblondie · 15/12/2020 23:19

Lucy- nice
Sarah- bit bland
Sophie- nice
Helene- a bit different- like it!
Joanna- not so sure
Marion- a bit old ladyish

Isaac- not sure
Edmund- like it
Ewan- really love it, especially that spelling!
Finlay- I like it, but it is a bit popular at the moment

Firebird83 · 16/12/2020 00:32

I love Joanna. Marion goes well too.

Edmund is the best from your boys list.
