Not looking for opinions on the names I like BUT am looking for more ideas based on those names.

I have 7 other children but I can’t put their names here as they would be way too outing as a couple of them have quite unusual names.

So I like:

Otto (this is my fave)
Buster (Dhs fave. I love it but not sure if I could do it tbh Grin )
Percy (I’ve always liked this and it goes well with my youngest sons name.

Not sure on girls names, it has to be floral. I’m a florist and all my girls either have cat names or flower names (so outing Grin )

Let me know your ideas Smile

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I like buster bloodvessel! I was bought up on ska! Also prince buster, another ska legend.

No one uses Percy for penis except for mumsnet. I’ve heard it mentioned on here before.

I like flora but worry it’s a bit boring. I like fleur but it sounds a bit like eurgh Grin

DH likes bluebell but it’s a bit soggy. And I don’t like bell as a nickname.

I'm really not keen on Buster, Otto or Percy - to be be honest they either seem very trendy/ or pet names to me, sorry. Maybe similar sounding Casper, Xander, Ivo, Jago, Nico, Toby or Henry?

With eight children (wow!) you really have to use the gorgeous Octavian for a boy (and you could still use Otto for a nickname, pleeeease at least consider it for the middle name spot Smile ).

Again you've really got to use Octavia as a middle name for a DD!, but cat names/flower first name options;

Claudia
Tabitha

Katia/Katerina
Flora
Ianthe
Jessamine/Jessamy
Bryony
Dahlia
Zinnia
Calla
and I love the suggestions of Viola and Jacinta.

Unbelievable. I had a friend who had an Otto, Percy, and Buster. They were Pugs. She never had girls so I can't suggest anything.

Hollyhobbi · 01/12/2020 02:15

Gosh. I can't imagine a young fella being called any of those names, except Otto if he was German! Or a pug! Florence or Rosa for a girl?

81Byerley · 01/12/2020 02:27

@VienneseWhirligig

Aster Daphnia Cassia Zinnia Flora Belladonna Jasmine Erica Heather Posy Veronica

Buster is a dog's name. Otto is nice, Percy quite unusual these days and cute, although it makes me think of the old chap on Coronation Street!

Belladonna is deadly poisonous, I wouldn't name a child that. Also known as Deadly Nightshade.
Pennybubbly · 01/12/2020 02:34

I live in Japan

The Japanese word for flower is "Hana" which is a cool name.
My DD went to school with a "Himawari" (Sunflower)

Other popular flower names here:

Sakura (Cherry blossom)
Momo (Peach) (means fascinating personality)
Sumire (Violet) (pronounced su-me-ray) (Means love, sincerity)
Ume (Plum/Japanese apricot) (pronounced Uh-may)

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 01/12/2020 02:46

Oh, I forgot another "cat" name (if you want more cat names as well as floral ones) - Perdita
