Hi everyone,

What do you all think about "Rose" for a girl?

Thanks x

Lovely - very underused as a first name. I know a couple of babies called Rosa too.

PlantPotting · 30/11/2020 12:27

Lovely

theruffles · 30/11/2020 12:51

I think it's a lovely, classic name.

PatchworkElmer · 30/11/2020 12:57

Really lovely!

Pudding01 · 30/11/2020 14:46

Love it

NeonIcedcoffee · 30/11/2020 14:48

It's a beautiful name. I'd love it to be my name! Not having children so can't use it for that but if I were having a children and a girl I'd 100% call the baby rose.

CockleburIck · 30/11/2020 16:54

I have my own beautiful Rose, so obviously I'm a fan Wink

whatwouldyoudo85 · 30/11/2020 16:54

Love it

ireallyamthewalrus · 30/11/2020 16:55

I love it. And I love Rosa too.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 30/11/2020 17:55

I like Rose - it's beautiful and classic. It's very lovely as a first name (but boring and overused as a middle). Rosa is okay too, as are longer versions like Rosalind and Rosamund (although I like the simplicity of Rose best). I dislike Rosie though - it makes a romantic, elegant name (Rose) sound dull to me.

june2007 · 30/11/2020 17:59

On it,s own I like it, but not keen as part of a double barelled name.

sobsanta · 30/11/2020 18:04

Lovely classic name.

FLOrenze · 30/11/2020 19:20

My great great grandma, born in early 1800s, was a rose. Then it was passed down in various forms to all succeeding girls. Three of my uncles married a Rose. The most recent addition is Rosie who is five. I love it, because it is so elegant and cannot be shortened.

Lovemylittlebear · 30/11/2020 19:21

We have a Rose :) I love her name, it really suits her x

bugaboo218 · 30/11/2020 19:23

Love it. Rose is a classic first name that is not often used as a first name. It is overly used IMO as a middle name.

I also like Rosina and Rosarna as alternative first names.

jldy2020 · 30/11/2020 19:24

Lovely!

CormoranStrike · 30/11/2020 19:25

Beautiful. Classically elegant; I also love similar but longer names like Rosalind and Rosamund.

Ellmau · 02/12/2020 18:45

Beautiful classic name.

CharlieBoo · 02/12/2020 22:01

Beautiful xxx

abersinas · 02/12/2020 22:08

I'm always surprised it's not more common. Rose is a beautiful name.

DramaAlpaca · 02/12/2020 22:34

Love it.

june2007 · 03/12/2020 09:04

Not common? I know 2 Roses and I have known, Emily-Rose, Falicity-Rose, courtney-Rose, ruby-Rose, Lilly-Rose and about 4 Eleanours with Rose as a middle name. And a Rosie.

ButterscotchWhip · 03/12/2020 09:53

Beautiful. Classic, romantic but also quite strong, if you know what I mean? Not soppy. Timeless! Go for it x
