I'm almost 28 weeks with our second who is a little girl.

Our son has an ie ending name, think Reggie, Freddie, Alfie, Archie, along those lines.

We really cannot decide between Evie or Alice for our daughter. He suggested Evie and I suggested Alice but now we've completely changed and he loves Alice and I want Evie 🤦🏼‍♀️

We've got quite a common J surname if that helps at all?

Alice! Evie is everywhere lately.

RunningFromInsanity · 25/11/2020 17:34

Aslong as your sons name doesn’t start with ‘E’ then I like Evie to go along with the ending- matching but not too similar.
Ie Eddie and Evie is too much but Archie and Evie is nice.

Although Alice is a nice name too.

Peachbubble · 25/11/2020 17:48

I prefer Alice.

Oneandabean · 25/11/2020 19:43

Alice, Evie is absolutely everywhere and is a bit matchy with your son

alexdgr8 · 25/11/2020 19:46

Alice.
evie sounds like a pet name, not a proper name.

PurBal · 25/11/2020 19:49

Elsie?

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 25/11/2020 19:50

I think Alice is much nicer 😊 and not as popular

NatalieH2220 · 25/11/2020 19:54

I prefer Evie although this is more popular so depends if that would bother you at all.

Nell96 · 25/11/2020 19:56

Alice is lovely - a classic. Don't go for Evie, there's loads of them! You might also like Ada, Iris or Lucy.

SilverOtter · 25/11/2020 20:01

Definitely Alice👍

Chickenitalia · 25/11/2020 20:01

I am biased towards Evie so would choose that, but Alice was on our short list for dc2.
I don’t know any little Evie’s now, and mine is the only one in her school. There was one other when she was in reception class, in year 5. So quite a long time as the only one. Think it might be declining in popularity now.

rosesareredxxx · 25/11/2020 20:01

Go with Alice it's lovely

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 25/11/2020 20:09

Alice is nice and traditional (if fairly popular at the moment), so would be the obvious choice to me.

Evie is nice enough (apart from it's slightly ubiquitous feel). But since you already have a DS name ending in the same sound plus a fairly common surname, I'd personally only use Evie as a nn for the classic Eve (which is surprisingly uncommon - all the other variations are much more popular).

Chilldonaldchill · 25/11/2020 22:00

Alice.

resm · 25/11/2020 22:04

Evelyn (similar style to Alice), but use Evie as a nickname?

InvisibleToEveryone · 25/11/2020 22:22

Alice, then you could use Ali to get your eee sound if you wanted.

DeeandraReynolds · 25/11/2020 22:57

Alice

Heh1991 · 26/11/2020 01:16

Evie!

I also love suggestions above for Evelyn and Elsie!

I think Evelyn Alice would make a lovely full name combination with Evie for short!

Enough4me · 26/11/2020 01:19

Abigail (Abbie) combines Alice and Evie sounds?

AdaColeman · 26/11/2020 01:26

Alice.

Evie, Eve, and all the variations have hugely popular for years.

MercyBodle · 26/11/2020 02:30

Alice would be better if you already have an 'ie' ending name. Alice is also a more versatile name.

OffredOfjune · 26/11/2020 02:58

Alice. So much nicer. Evie is just plain overused now.

festivebug · 26/11/2020 04:04

Evie is popular but I think it's beautiful and much nicer then Alice. What about Eva or Ava?

Sandcastles09 · 26/11/2020 04:48

Alice!

MikeUniformMike · 26/11/2020 08:47

Alice.

Evie, Eve, and all the variations have hugely popular for years so it's probably peaked.
