Do you prefer Callie or Hallie or neither altogether?
We already have a DD called Amelia

Thanks :)

I love Callie!

My partner says Halloe.

I knew a really sweet girl called Callie. Hallie reminds me of one of the parent trap twins!

sunkiss · 16/11/2020 22:30

Callie

sherrystrull · 16/11/2020 22:31

Callie. I love it.

I think of Hallie spelt differently like Halle Berry

BigusBumus · 16/11/2020 22:31

Callie. Which is usually short for Caroline.

Hallie just makes me think of Hallie Berry as I don't know of a single person IRL called Hallie.

Nell96 · 16/11/2020 22:40

Callie. I dislike Hallie and I much prefer Calla.

Lou98 · 16/11/2020 22:41

I love both but my friend has a wee girl called Halle and I think it's a lovely name!

Rowley21 · 16/11/2020 22:46

Thank you all, I am leaning towards Callie more but DP has just suggested a completely different name, Alannah and I love that too! Thoughts on Alannah with sister Amelia x

Callie or a variation of, was the name I chose both DD's names between that and what they are called. Actually I didn't choose as I couldn't - I tossed a coin the first time round and DD1 chose the second. I still feel sad I don't have a Cali/kalia - I also loved Calista as a full name and Cali as a shortened. It also has a lovely meaning - 'beautiful one' in Greek. So yeh, that one!

RoundTheTwister · 16/11/2020 23:03

Love both Callie and Alannah but think Callie goes better with Amelia.

DramaAlpaca · 17/11/2020 00:53

I prefer Callie to Hallie.

I quite like Alannah with Amelia too.

cloverbug · 17/11/2020 01:26

Callie! Though I prefer it spelt Cali.

Tavannach · 17/11/2020 01:56

Calla.

octoberfarm · 17/11/2020 02:12

I love both!

MercyBodle · 17/11/2020 06:23

I prefer Callie over Hallie. I find Alannah too similar in sounds to Amelia.
I don't think either Callie or Hallie are like Amelia in style though. Amelia is a traditional, formal name whereas Callie and Hallie both feel casual, more like nicknames in style. Caroline, Calista or Calliope or something else, nn Callie would be my preference.

Enko · 17/11/2020 07:50

I like both but I LOVE Allannah

MishkaM · 17/11/2020 07:56

I find Hallie a cute name for a baby as well as beautiful for a woman. Callie is more nicknamey in my opinion.

Mommabear20 · 17/11/2020 08:13

Would'nt recommend having 2 girls starting with the same letter, if initials are the same, school work as well as mail when they're older starts getting confusing

Rowley21 · 17/11/2020 09:12

Thank you all for your replies! I think we’ve ruled out hallie now! X

Hallie!

StripyTigerTail · 17/11/2020 16:19

Oh sorry, just saw you don't want it.

Callie is nice as a nn, but, imo, isn't great as a standalone name. It's a bit blah / insubstantial. That said, it isn't terrible by any stretch.

For some reason Hallie works as a name on its own, although, again, it isn't my favourite name.

Amelia is a full, established name. I personally wouldn't choose either Hallie or Callie to go with it. But not my baby and all that.

Enderline · 17/11/2020 16:46

Alannah is too similar to Amelia.

Callie is gorgeous.

Firebird83 · 17/11/2020 23:37

Callie

gracefarrel · 18/11/2020 00:42

I personally love Hallie!
