Lucinda or Elsie? I like Lucy but DH has vetoed but could be Lucy for short. William and DD will be full brother/sister and Stanley half brother (DH's son)
I know that they're all individuals but I like sibsets to match.
Any other suggestions welcome - I like feminine, pretty names, preferably traditional or classic.
Thanks!

I'd say Lucinda

Lucille?

PurBal · 16/11/2020 08:28

I love Elsie

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 16/11/2020 08:34

Martha
Cassie

Elsie is lovely.
I think you run the risk of Lucille being altered mistaken for Lucy.
What about mabel? Or Daisy?

delilabell · 16/11/2020 08:37

Oh sorry you said lucinda someone else said Lucille Blush

ShipOfTheseus · 16/11/2020 08:42

Lucinda by miles. Lucinda and Elsie are at opposite ends of the naming spectrum, so I’m surprised they are your final two.

RomillyTheRabbit · 16/11/2020 10:03

Lucinda.

Rainbowqueeen · 16/11/2020 10:07

Lucinda

lottiegarbanzo · 16/11/2020 10:14

Lucinda goes with William, Elsie goes with Stanley. They're very, very different pairs!

William also goes with Alice, Kate (Katherine), Anna, Flora, Elizabeth, Tessa, Sophie, Jessica, Zoe, Rosalind, Miranda, Imogen, Emma.

Spied · 16/11/2020 10:17

My first thoughts were Rebecca or Miranda.

emmathedilemma · 16/11/2020 12:23

Eliza?
I like Lucy but Lucinda less so.

RomillyTheRabbit · 16/11/2020 12:55

Eliza is a nice alternative to Elsie. Or how about Elspeth? Could shorten to Eliza or Elsie.

Also like Rebecca, suggested^^.

If I'm being totally honest, I like all of these more than Elsie or Lucinda, but just my personal taste.

ItsReallyOnlyMe · 16/11/2020 13:00

I know a Lucinda who went by Lucy as a little girl, but changed it to Lulu as a teenager. She could have chosen Cindy as well, so I think you need to like the possible other nicknames.

I agree with this - the boys’ names have very different feels. William is a timeless classic, Stanley much more trendy. Ideally you’d have a timeless full name with a granny-chic nickname, like Elizabeth to give Betsy.

If DH really dislikes Lucy you can’t sneak it in the back door with Lucinda.

bridgetreilly · 16/11/2020 16:01

Elsie.

Agree with this - I personally would look for a more classic type name to fit with William, but with a vintage/trendy style nickname to match Stanley. Think Elisabeth (Elsie/Betty), Catherine (Kitty), Helena/Eleanor (Nell), Rose/Rosa/Rosalind/Rosamund (Rosie), Louisa (Lulu/Lola), Annabel (Annie) etc
