Helped me decide dc3. I realised I was more invested in that name because I reacted more to the good and bad comments.
Dh liked it because there's a connection with his job. Hmm

I currently only have 1 name on my shortlist.. (although would like a few more to choose from).

I hadn’t thought of it until I saw it on a baby names thread.

I suppose so, I always knew my son would have the name he has but it isn’t very liked on mumsnet, they did convince me to use the full version on his birth certificate though

Yes! We were considering naming DD2 Alizée. DH is from a french-speaking country where it’s not an uncommon name. Mumsnet pointed out that it’s the name of a cheap alcoholic drink!

Kind of, I told mumsnet the name we were considering and ended up using to get opinions. If I listened to half of the opinions I would of changed my mind as it is a very marmite name! But I got some great comments about it too, and alot of people reassured me about my decision as it initially got bad reactions from family and friends when I was pregnant. But now everyone loves it :)

Went with Delilah instead of Padime (being that only one of us a star wars nut and that the correct name is Padmè) - thanks mumsnet, saved me from my hormones Grin

I really wanted that "i" in the middle lol

EssentialHummus · 13/11/2020 17:08

I posted a picture of DD as a newborn and asked MN to help name her. One poster came up with the combination of first and middle names, and another (inadvertently) came up with her nickname.

I also had quite a few people talk me out of naming her Boris when we weren’t sure what we were having. DH was adamant that it was a lovely name! Grin

I think it helped me come up with a shortlist for both our dcs. Dh chose dc1's name in the end though and he isn't on MN. I chose dc2's name and I definitely posted a lot about baby names while I did so, but I don't think I ever mentioned the full name on here. It comes up from time to time on here and people are usually fairly positive about it, but there are always a couple of negative comments too. It doesn't bother me. I think when you really love a name, even MN can't change your mind Smile!
