Mia and Logan are decent names.

Snowyblue · 10/11/2020 14:29

Helena and Douglas are the least chavvy names there.

frolicmum · 10/11/2020 14:33

Thanks @Snowyblue 😅😂

I also really like Mathilda.

Arlo and Piper are my faves

Spied · 10/11/2020 14:38

Autumn Grace is beautiful.

I'm not keen on your boys list.
I'd of said Logan Joseph.

frolicmum · 10/11/2020 14:39

@whatsbinhappnin

I love Mathilda Grace! What a lovely suggestion! Thanks!

@Spied I am pretty sure we're having a girl but will find out tomorrow, big brother is Louis.

Helena and Douglas

MercyBodle · 11/11/2020 05:47

I like all your girls' names (including Mathilda). Autumn Grace is my favourite - but all lovely.
Douglas is the only one I like in the boys' list. Douglas Joseph?

CatteStreet · 11/11/2020 06:08

That's a very mixed bag, OP!

Helena and Elizabeth are lovely. Why not use Elizabeth? It's an absolute classic but very underused these days (and even when I was small it was more of a middle name). She could be Lizzy, Betty or Beth day to day if you wanted.

Rose and Grace are today's Louise - lovely in themselves but have become generic middle names. Violet is very faddy. Autumn, Piper and Mia aren't durable IMO.

Like Joseph and Douglas, not keen on Arlo (trendy/faddy). Nothing 'wrong' with Liam, Logan or Charles, but not to my taste.

CatteStreet · 11/11/2020 06:10

Mathilda's lovely. Quite popular, if that bothers you.

BigusBumus · 11/11/2020 07:21

Autumn Grace is a little bit like the name of a paint colour.

Helena is lovely. Pronounced Hell-ay-na.

MikeUniformMike · 11/11/2020 19:35

Mia Elizabeth - Mia is very popular
Skye Rose - Skye Blue Pink
Autumn Grace - sounds like a nurssing home
Helena -- ok
Piper Violet no

Boys:

Arlo Joseph - don't like Arlo
Logan - no
Liam Charles - Liam overused about 20 yrs ago
Douglas - ok

frolicmum · 12/11/2020 09:35

The boys names were all from my husband as I was convinced we were having a girl but looks like we're having a boy and I love love love Hugo!

OP posts:
IamnotwhouthinkIam · 12/11/2020 13:02

Congrats! Okay if you're having a boy, I'd personally use William on the BC (but use nn Liam) of your choices - it's classic, won't date and gives him lots of options while still likely being the only Liam in his class.

Are you Scottish/Scots heritage? Logan and Douglas are fine but sound a bit Scottish to me so people may assume (Douglas particularly). Arlo is horribly trendy at the moment, so I wouldn't use it myself. Hugo is okay but again a bit trendy now (used to be seen as very posh too), I'd use the more classic Hugh instead.

DepuisToujours · 12/11/2020 13:06

Congratulations! Hugo is a lovely name.

BigusBumus · 12/11/2020 13:18

Yes go for Hugo! Hugo Douglas is nice.

FluffyEggsontoast · 12/11/2020 13:28

Congratulations on having a boy @frolicmum

Hugo Douglas is really lovely
Also love Arlo and Liam but I think Hugo is best

IckleBear · 12/11/2020 15:08

Agree, Hugo Douglas is great!!
