I have a few tell me which is best
1.) kianna
2.) kiannah

3.) keyana keyanna
4.) kiyanna
5.) kiyanah

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SoupDragon · 08/11/2020 10:31

@kmkkkkkk

More like key-Ahna not Anna
For that pronunciation I would go with Kiana.
emilybrontescorsett · 08/11/2020 14:20

I would pronounce it Key anna however you spelt it as I’ve never heard it before.

Emelene · 08/11/2020 14:25

Kiana
Although she may get ky-arna rather than kee arna?

Coffeeandaride · 08/11/2020 14:27

I have never hear it before and would find it difficult to pronounce the first time with any of the variants given.

I think Kiana looks better.

ShowOfHands · 08/11/2020 14:28

I know two. They are both Keiana.

waltzingparrot · 08/11/2020 15:08

If you go want the Ah sound, I'd but the letter R in it. Keyarna

LimpidPools · 08/11/2020 15:23

Yeah but that looks like some kind of typo for Hey Arnold, waltzingparrot.

And Keana could easily be read Keener.

As previous posters have said, a double n will give you a short A sound, like in Anne.

Kiana follows more English spelling conventions (such as they are) than the other options.

You'll never get a 100% success rate with a name that's going to be unfamiliar to many or most people. I think Kiana will give you the highest proportion of correct guesses though. And it looks quite pretty written down.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 08/11/2020 15:28

The one i know is Keiyanna. The way her Mum pronounces it is not quite Key-arna but not quite Key-anna either. I can't explain it.

AdelaideK · 08/11/2020 15:32

Kiyana or Kiana will probably get the correct pronunciation but I prefer Ciana

Antonin · 08/11/2020 15:38

Would the more Italianate spelling of Chiarna work? Eg Compare with Chiara

LimpidPools · 08/11/2020 15:46

Ciana does look nice. It'll probably get you some See-arna versions though.

I suppose maybe there's an element of working out which mispronounciations you hate least.

Plenty of people read Ch name spellings like they read Chair.

2Kidsinatrenchcoat · 08/11/2020 15:49

Kiana

Wibby86 · 08/11/2020 15:58

Kiana 100%

itssquidstella · 08/11/2020 16:00

I know a Keana. I like it spelled that way; Kiana is okay too though.

YoniAndGuy · 08/11/2020 16:01

If you want people to say 'ahna' then one n - Kiana

If you want 'anna', then double n.

People will say Kianna to rhyme with Hannah or Anna.

CodenameVillanelle · 08/11/2020 16:02

Kiana
But the number of variants of spelling and pronunciation on this thread alone should tell you this is a name best avoided.

CodenameVillanelle · 08/11/2020 16:03

@itssquidstella

I know a Keana. I like it spelled that way; Kiana is okay too though.
Actually this is probably the best one as everyone knows how to pronounce Keanu and this is like a feminine version Grin
Lisa78Lemon · 08/11/2020 16:05

Kiana

2 'n's looks odd to me

NameChange84 · 08/11/2020 16:07

@waltzingparrot

If you go want the Ah sound, I'd but the letter R in it. Keyarna
Many people will pronounce it incorrectly if your suggestion is followed - in a rotic accent such as Scots, American, Irish that r WILL be pronounced and it will sound dreadful.

OP the one I know is Kiana (key-ahh-nuh) (ah as in father)

Kianna would be Key-annnn-uh (a as in Apple)
