I have a daughter called Savannah (my husband chose it) I’ve accidentally fallen in love with the name Sahara the obvious problem them both being deserts, however this has no real relevance to why I like them just think they are beautiful names...

The question is it weird?? Honest answers please thank you x

The Savannah isn't a desert, but they are both African landscapes.

Do you have any link to either the Savannah or the Sahara? I'd find it a bit weird if not.

Sasha? Zara?

Sorry - but yes - calling kids Savannah and Sahara is the type of thing that would raise eyebrows.

Not just because of the desert thing but they are very matchy match in sounds as well.

It sounds like the type of thing someone on “16 and Pregnant” would call twins!

Dovesandkisses · 04/11/2020 16:30

please don't!

YoniAndGuy · 04/11/2020 16:34

No no no!!!

Savannah is a bit frilly so even using any other S name sounds a bit Disney to be honest. Just a bit MUCH.

I think you need a name that really contrasts with Savannah.

Savannah and Ramona

Savannah and Melissa

Savannah and Rosalind

Czarina is close in sound, but suits somehow?

😂😂😂 you are all definitely putting me off of it 🤣🤣 and one definitely not 16 unfortunately 😆 thank you all

Sahara is quite nice but not with sister Savannah, both for the meanings and the sounds.

bluecheesebaguette · 06/11/2020 16:36

It's a pretty sound but it an African desert. From Arabic صَحْرَاء‎ (ṣaḥrāʾ, “desert”).

I would avoid. And double avoid because you already have a Savannah.

Soraya?

sorryforswearing · 06/11/2020 16:42

A savanna is a grassy landscape in Africa not a desert but even so it’s too much.

Spied · 06/11/2020 16:48

Savannah or Sahara. Never both.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 06/11/2020 16:56

Noooooooooo

Sorry. Just no.

JaJaDingDong · 06/11/2020 16:59

I know a Savannah with a sister India, if that helps.
It's not a desert though.
