Pearl is lovely I have only met one little Pearl and she was such a nice girl , also my late mil's middle name . Understated and classy , my fave from your list . Oh and congratulations!

crabette · 31/10/2020 16:41

Congratulations! Penelope and Pearl are my favourites from your list!

Quizeerascal · 31/10/2020 16:42

Congratulations! Love Joy, Pearl then Penelope in that order. Not so keen on Bonnie, feels like it needs something longer behind it, Bonita perhaps, I've known a lovely one. Other names with a similar feel

Hope
Coral
Cora
Felicity

I like Joy and Bonnnie. Penelope seems to be increasing in popularity but I think of wacky races.

SocialBees · 31/10/2020 16:43

I like Joy, Bonnie and Penelope (Penny). Not keen on Pearl.

How about Sylvie or Sylvia?

Merename · 31/10/2020 20:10

Like them all, prefer penny to Penelope though, also wacky races for me. Love Nancy especially, my friend has a gorgeous wee Nancy. Nina too.

Nell?

My mums name unfortunately! I like it but can’t use it.

Ooh I like Nell.

Penelope would likely be Penny but would use full name on BC.

I love Pearl and Joy. Gorgeous names. I think Joy is my favourite by a smudged as it’s...well, so joyous!

Like Penelope and Bonnie. Bonnie maybe a bit cutesy, though. But I can see it’s appeal. I’d just like to have an alternative if I was called Bonnie, something stronger.

Merename · 31/10/2020 20:17

We’ve got a middle name Nell as couldn’t get DH to agree. I love it, simple but chic and intelligent! Suppose it could be a nn for Penelope too...

Merename · 31/10/2020 20:17

Ps congratulations on your girl news! Do you have boys or girls already?

I just tabled Nell to DH and he made a face 😏

And thank you, we’re so excited for our girl.

I’ve got an older daughter from my first marriage and a toddler boy with DH.

Bonnie is a lovely name! It would be our first choice for a girl also.

HogwartsAtChristmas · 31/10/2020 20:39

I really like Joy from your list.

Happenchance · 31/10/2020 20:49

Although I like the sound of the name Pearl, I don’t like the way that pearls are cultivated, which puts me off that name.

I think Joy and Hope are big names to live up too, especially if your child is introverted or naturally pessimistic.

I prefer Ellen or Helena to Helen (though that might be because I have never met a Helen that I get on with).

How about:
Estelle
Stella
Francesca
Magda
Fenella?

Sexnotgender · 31/10/2020 21:01

Estelle Stella Francesca Magda Fenella?

Only really like Francesca but it’s too close to my sons name.
