Boys name Monty?

I like Monty Don but he is terribly middle class. I struggle to picture it on the average kid though to be honest and I'm not sure I'd personally like to be called Monty.

The full monty and monty python. I like the name but those examples would put me off.

babyguffingtonstrikesagain · 28/10/2020 08:32

I love it!

Mr Burns from the Simpsons.

DontFadeAway · 28/10/2020 08:39

I look after a little 18 month old called Monty, cute name 😇

FippertyGibbett · 28/10/2020 08:39

No.

bonjourem · 28/10/2020 08:43

I know a Monty, it suits him. But when I was told his name I thought it was an odd choice for a baby. It has grown on me though.

Katgolde · 28/10/2020 09:16

I don't like Monty Don and the only other Monty I know of is a dog.

emmathedilemma · 28/10/2020 09:53

Awfully upper class, red trouser wearing, tweed jacket type of name! It's kind of cute but feels like it needs the right sort of person to pull it off.

FizzyGreenWater · 28/10/2020 11:20

I would think try-hard-to-be-edgy parents, although it's a nice enough name. It sounds ever so slightly silly.

LovemeLoveu · 28/10/2020 11:49

Oh dear! Haha.

I find it quite cute. It reminds be of Billy Conolly because of the Series of Unfortunate Events film, he plays a character called Montgomery Montgomery in it.

MikeUniformMike · 28/10/2020 12:38

It's a bit twee but could be short for Montague or Montgomery, or Mont anything.

It's fine, though.

VenusClapTrap · 28/10/2020 15:41

Bit of a comedy name. I know a six year old one. It doesn’t suit him.
