My OH and I are finding it hard to agree on names.

I like: Kit, Alfie, Ralph, and Ted
He likes William

Any suggestions? Baby was born this morning 😍

DH needs more names on his list. Just picking William leaves no room for negotiation. 💐 Congratulations.

IckleBear · 27/10/2020 16:13

Rufus, Frankie, Ronny,
Magnus, Luca, Silas.

emmathedilemma · 27/10/2020 16:53

Wilfred? Sort of a compromise between William and Alfred / Alfie??

emmathedilemma · 27/10/2020 16:54

p.s. Congratulations!! Flowers

Rufus, Edwin, Casper, Lucas, Elliott

YukoandHiro · 27/10/2020 16:59

And love Silas too. That was on our boys list but we have two daughters

ForthPlace · 27/10/2020 17:03

Could he be Edward (NN Ted) then you both sort of get your way. He gets his more formal name and you get something you like too.

Or Christopher/Kristian/Cristian for DH and known as Kit

Alternatively call him William - would you be happy to shorten to Bill, Billy or Will?
Seems like, you want short and more relaxed, he wants more of a formal, grown up name.

Other names...
Edgar (Ted)
Sebastian (Seb)
Sidney (Sid)
Albert (Albie/Bertie)
Arthur (Arty/Art)

Please let us know and congratulations💙

Twinkie01 · 27/10/2020 17:11

Gabriel and Otto are my favourite names for boys or Elliot.

DodgyBathroomLight · 27/10/2020 17:37

Jasper, Elijah, Reuben, Tobias, Henry

HotDiggidy2017 · 27/10/2020 17:54

Kit: coolest name ever
Alfie: great name! But it’s so popular I’d be put off
Ralph: not too keen
Ted: so cute but maybe as a nickname like others suggested?

William: I’m biased it’s an ex-boyfriends same so would be a no but if it wasn’t for that it’s definitely a nice one.

Which one works best with you surname?

Katgolde · 27/10/2020 17:57

Congratulations!

Max
Finlay
Leo
Felix
Oscar
Jack
Tommy
Sam

MikeUniformMike · 27/10/2020 18:30

I don't like any of them, although William is Ok.

Firebird83 · 27/10/2020 19:55

William is the only one I like too

Whatsyourflava · 27/10/2020 20:25

William is really nice

It seems like you want a slightly less common name (though you'll probably be surprised at how popular names like Ted Ralph and Alfie are!) or maybe you're just wanting a more modern sounding name?

Laurence
Tristan
Barnaby
Sidney or Sid
Eli
Ellis
Vincent
Miles
Casper
Blake
Dominic
Austin
Oakley

Did you decide @BeMorePacific, love to know what your LO has been named. 💙

BeMorePacific · 28/10/2020 23:24

@ForthPlace We are going to go with Alfred / Alfie. He really suits it, and it goes nicely with his big bro’s name too (which incidentally is Edward/Ted!)

BunAndOven · 01/11/2020 18:06

Great choice OP!
Welcome to a rather crazy world young man

BeMorePacific · 02/11/2020 12:43

@BunAndOven isn’t it just. Lockdown feels less intimidating with a newborn.
