What do people think? 32 weeks pregnant with DD. Middle name would be Elizabeth so Francesca Elizabeth? Really struggling with girls names that DH and I agree on. Our favourite we cant have because of our surname.

Lovely!!

AliasGrape · 24/10/2020 15:24

It was near the top of my list but DH vetoed because his boss is a Francis and he was convinced the boss would think we’d named her after him Grin

It’s lovely.

TerribleCustomerCervix · 24/10/2020 15:24

Love it! V classic

WhySoSensitive · 24/10/2020 15:25

Is the favourite the same as your surname?
I like Francesca, on our shortlist.

updownroundandround · 24/10/2020 15:26

I love Francesca, but I absolutely loathe Frannie, which is the worst 'shortened' nickname.

diddlediddle · 24/10/2020 16:40

It's lovely. Really like Frankie as a nn

wishing3 · 24/10/2020 16:42

An underused classic.👍🏻

TenShortStories · 24/10/2020 16:44

Love it too - with Fran or Frankie as a nickname.

JollyGiraffe12 · 24/10/2020 16:46

Absolutely love it! DH hates it though 😭

starbright11 · 24/10/2020 16:51

We have a Francesca, Frankie as a nn. Middle name is Ada. She is now 5 years old and I still love her name. It was the one name me and my husband both agreed on.

FlatScreenTV01 · 24/10/2020 16:52

People shorten it to Fanny..

husbandcallsmepickle · 24/10/2020 16:53

I like Francesca. Nn could also be Cesca or Effie (FE initials)

Ikeameatballs · 24/10/2020 16:54

I really like it.

Rafflesway · 24/10/2020 16:56

Love Francesca and Frankie as a nn.

With Elizabeth as mn - really classy!

dolphinpose · 24/10/2020 17:00

It's lovely. Frankie or Cesca or Chessie are all nice nicknames.

MillieEpple · 24/10/2020 17:03

Its loveley. Fran, frankie, cesca, chessie. all good.

Abracadabra12345 · 24/10/2020 17:13

Love it. I remember meeting a Francesca as a child and always being envious of her name.

Mrsfussypants1 · 24/10/2020 17:34

Our 4 year old grandaughter is Francesca, after Uncle Francesco (though she's called herself Cesca since she could talk) I was expecting a really out there name like Dove or River so I instantly loved it.

pilates · 24/10/2020 17:52

Very nice

Sexnotgender · 24/10/2020 18:03

Lovely.

Cobumbo · 24/10/2020 18:12

Thanks for all your replies. I really like it too but DH has just ruled it out due to a past dealing with a Francesca. Bugger, I thought I was on to a winner there. Back to the drawing board, sigh.

Ah, that's a shame. Other strong classic names:

Josephine
Felicity
Catherine
Miriam

MercyBodle · 25/10/2020 01:34

What a pity! I love Francesca.

ChittyChittyBoomBoom · 25/10/2020 01:56

My dd is Francesca Elizabeth so I obviously agree with you 😉.

DramaAlpaca · 25/10/2020 01:09

I really don't like Francesca. The simpler version Frances is beautiful, classic and classy, I don't see Francesca in the same way at all.
