Nash or Jack

My husband is obsessed with one syllable “manly” boy names lol. I love Nash. Jack seems too popular.
Thoughts?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
MummytoCSJH · 23/10/2020 16:09

Never heard of Nash...

ErrolTheDragon · 23/10/2020 16:10

Sounds exactly like Gnash so no, I don't think so.

Katgolde · 23/10/2020 16:10

Nash sounds like gnash. Reminds me of Gnasher the dog or gnashing of teeth.

Jack was No1 boys name for several years running. Personally I think it's been overdone too recently.

How about Josh, Ash, Max or Nick?

sanityisamyth · 23/10/2020 16:11

Nash is awful. Sounds like something you do with your teeth (gnash)

Peachbubble · 23/10/2020 16:11

Jack, yes. Nash, no. How about
Nate
Tate
Jude
Rex

RishiMcRichface · 23/10/2020 16:12

I met a little Clarke the other day that might be an alternative.

ChickenDoughnut · 23/10/2020 16:12

Nyash is a slang word for a woman’s arse in some circles.

Jack is better.

Scarby9 · 23/10/2020 16:14

Cash
Dace
Hank
Jake
Luke
Max
Rafe
Seth

Nacomi · 23/10/2020 16:38

Jack

CharityPecksniff · 23/10/2020 16:45

Nash will be teased.

Kote · 23/10/2020 16:46

Nash sounds like a cowboy to me

Uhtredmumofuhtred · 23/10/2020 16:56

Gnasher? No.
Jack.

Mamadothehump · 23/10/2020 17:03

I never comment on baby name threads as each to their own but Nash is awful in my opinion.

LittleTiger007 · 23/10/2020 17:09

I know of a Nash and he’s American. It’s ok, unusual here which may be a plus. jack is timeless and lovely.

BananaDaiquiri · 23/10/2020 17:10

I like Nash, but can see others point about Gnasher.
Agree about Jack being overdone.
How about:

Hugh
Jed
Zac
Ted
Abe
Flynn
Finn

frustrationcentral · 23/10/2020 17:14

I know a Nash, he's a teenager and has never been teased for his name.

pinkpanther84 · 23/10/2020 17:32

Jack, a hundred percent!

nutellatoast · 23/10/2020 17:36

Nash is awful, definitely Jack. Nat or Nate are ok.

Quizeerascal · 23/10/2020 17:40

Nash is a surname so I guess it could technically become a first name. Sounds quite harsh though and reminds me of gnash/Gnasher. Cash is nicer although I don't love it, Ash is a great name and I think Jos works well as a short name for a boy or Frank perhaps

RuthW · 23/10/2020 18:59

Nash is a dog's name surely?

user1493494961 · 23/10/2020 20:45

Nash is awful, his mates would probably call him Nasher.

PoorMansPaulaRadcliffe · 23/10/2020 20:52

I love it when people roundly reject a name, and then proffer half a dozen much worse examples.
I loved a spot of 'Nash Bridges'. And the theme tune is right up there with the best. Go for it, OP.

MikeUniformMike · 23/10/2020 21:06

Nash - Gnasher, Nesh
Jack - Jacko, Jacksy.

If you have other children are they called Crosby and Stills?

ulanbatorismynextstop · 23/10/2020 21:22

Nash! Awful....

JemimaTiggywinkle · 25/10/2020 21:31

Jack
