Can't agree

I'm 34 weeks with DS2 and we still can't agree on a name.

My favourite is Charlie, I'm thinking Charlie Thomas

My husband wants Sam (not Samuel) and I've suggested Sam Oliver as Oliver was my first choice for DS1 but DH wasn't keen on using it.

We tend to like more traditional names. Be grateful for any other suggestions or opinions on the above

Both your options are really lovely
I think Charlie is great and Sam too

How about Laurence or Peter or Joseph or Joshua

It sounds like you're pretty happy with the options you've got already though and I'd stick with them

Charlie Thomas & Sam Oliver are both lovely, I would choose one of these. I slightly prefer Charlie Thomas.

We have a Charlie in the family and it’s a lovely name.

I prefer Sam Oliver

Thanks everyone :) glad that no one has mentioned any strange associations that we hadn't considered!

Either option sounds fine.

MikeUniformMike · 16/10/2020 13:24

Go with whichever of the first names sounds best with the surname.

All of the names incl middle names are fine.

Both Sam and Charlie are slightly dodgy with the surname Brown, but that's probably not your surname.
