Any thoughts on Samuel?

Or any other suggestions?

I think Samuel is really nice. I like Sam/Sammy as well. It’s a strong name that would suit anyone. For me, Samuel is similar to Thomas, Edward, William, Joseph, so maybe you would like these as well.

24red · 13/10/2020 21:31

I've presented Thomas, William and Joseph to my husband and he said no to all of them!

You're definitely on my wavelength with your suggestions though!

I love it! Was going to be the name of my dd if she was a boy.

Emelene · 13/10/2020 21:41

Absolutely love it. William and Joseph were on my list too though so we must have similar taste.

Also Edward, Henry and Elliott were on the list!

InspiredbyMoomins · 13/10/2020 21:44

We chose it for DS. Also on our list:
Thomas
Charles/Charlie
Jacob
Joshua
Jasper
Matthew
Anton
Daniel
Nathaniel
Reuben

I love Joshua, Jake and Joseph but they don't work with our surname. I also like George but that's sounds odd with our name too.

Really like it. Sam and Sammy are great as nn.

Lozz22 · 14/10/2020 11:42

Samuel was our first choice for a boys name when I was Pregnant. We never got past the first trimester though so our Baby is just known as little Bean

Samuel is lovely!

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 14/10/2020 11:53

Love Samuel. Was my first choice for DS, but I got outvoted by DH and DD in favour of Joshua.

Sexnotgender · 14/10/2020 11:55

Love Samuel. I’d have had it on my list but unfortunately my dog is Sam so didn’t work for us.

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 14/10/2020 13:40

We liked Samuel but took it off the list as the inevitable shortening to Sam just seemed so dull Sad

Whatsyourflava · 14/10/2020 13:42

Really love it! Great choice @24red

My other two sons names have been suggested up thread so you're definitely all coming from the correct place here ladies!

This is actually one of the reasons I like Samuel, I'm not a fan of shortened names usually but I actually really like Sam too and won't get annoyed if/when people inevitably shorten it

I adore the name Samuel. There's something very peaceful about it, isn't there?

It's on my "If we ever have another boy" list. :o

campion · 14/10/2020 13:59

I have one so am biased.
He's always been known by full name to close family but there's an assumption that they'll be called Sam elsewhere. Which he is as he just gave up in the end. And Sam is nice enough.
Anyway, its a lovely name and timeless.

Garcellesaidwhaaat · 14/10/2020 16:39

Yep, like it. Samuel is a cool name. I don't find Sam dull.
He would join a list of cool dudes. Sammy Davis Jr of The Rat Pack, Sam Heughan of the sexiness pack, Sam Beckett, Sam Cooke, Samuel L Jackson.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 14/10/2020 16:42

Sir Samuel Vimes!

Oh, and Sam Seabourne. Actually, come to think of it, my entire boys list was taken from the cast of The West Wing (Sam, Josh, Toby and Leo!)

Woui · 14/10/2020 16:48

Love it.

24red · 14/10/2020 16:49

Thank you all so much for the feedback - seems like a very well received option! I think I'm very set on it now Grin

We have one! He insists on being called his full name so Sam is not inevitable. My other choice was Nathan.
