Don’t nicknames evolve naturally?

Oats or Oaty is the best I can come up with.

Aardvark .... but that is showing my age

I know a toddler Otis who gets called Otie. Can’t really think of any other intuitive nicknames.

Our kids are affectionately known as Ozzy boy and Ottie girl. Adding a 3rd nickname into the sib-set is mostly for them, they came up with Otis Potis Poo poo but I'm sure we can do better 😆😜

Otis is a great name. The current obsession with nicknames is baffling.

Male nicknames will tend to come from surnames IMO.

Otis Jones will be Jonesy.
Otis Brown will be Browner.
Otis Roberts will be Robbo.

Nicknames evolve! Honestly I'd never have guessed my kids' nicknames before their birth and nor did I choose names on the basis of how I could transform them into nicknames. Don't overthink this! Just find a name you like

I agree nicknames evolve, DD1 is princess Dd2 is bear and ddog is chicken or full version according to dc is chicken pie waggy tail. None bare any resemblance to their actual names.

Thanks all, otis arrived early hours of Sunday am. We hadn't planned on a nickname and were quite happy not having one. Its more for his older sibs, they are trying to work out how to bring him into the fold with their nickname set which has boy or girl at end. Ozzy-boy and Ottie-girl (Oscar and Ottilie). Its for fun at home more than anything else. Thank you xxxx
