How would you spell this name? Darcey, Darcy or Darcie?

Also, opinions on this name ? I think it’s a pretty and not very common name but is still a heard of name, however, something is holding me back! 🥴

Celebrity-inspired name that wasn't her birth name.Surname.

I dislike it regardless of how you spell it.

Hatscats · 11/10/2020 14:12

Darcy

Iknewyouwerewaitingforme · 11/10/2020 14:54

I really don’t like it. It’s so twee verging on sickly for me. Sorry!

daisypond · 11/10/2020 15:00

Darcey is the best, as in the ballerina - and that’s a stage name/middle name due to her complicated family history - if you really must.
All are awful names for a girl.

MikeUniformMike · 11/10/2020 18:48

Not only do I not like it, I know of several, who are about 8 yrs old now.

AfterSchoolWorry · 11/10/2020 18:51

It was very popular 2/3 years back and not in a good way.

Spied · 11/10/2020 18:54

Darcy

CoffeeBeansGalore · 11/10/2020 18:57

I like Darcy. If Ds (now 15) had been a girl the name would have been Darcy Rachel.

JollyGiraffe12 · 11/10/2020 19:09

Darcy

Firebird83 · 11/10/2020 21:19

It really don’t like it, sorry. I don’t like the word, but it’s a bit chavvy 😬

Mallysmomma · 11/10/2020 21:23

Darcy x

DottyFlossie · 11/10/2020 21:29

Lovely name. Darcie.

Whatsyourflava · 12/10/2020 07:09

Lovely name! I think any of those spellings could work. I don't know anyone with the name so wouldn't assume any specific spelling

SadWife2020 · 12/10/2020 15:47

Could also consider Dulcie as a similar but less frequently used alternative?

MuserOwl · 12/10/2020 15:54

Oh yeh, Dulcie is nice. I knew a cool Dulcie. An artist.

MyNameHasBeenTaken · 12/10/2020 22:10

I know a lovely Darcy.
She chose her own nn "bum" as it was less rude than (d)arse

AcrobaticCardigan · 13/10/2020 09:30

Love Darcey/Darcy - this is on my shortlist for next baby. Darcey Bussell the ballerina is spelt with an ‘e’ - I'm pretty sure that’s the most commonly used modern spelling as I’ve been looking into this myself. Absolutely not the Darcie spelling.

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 18/10/2020 19:12

I don’t love it myself, but would assume it was spelled Darcy

Yogawithmydog · 18/10/2020 20:49

Darcy to me is a surname (Pride and Prejudice) so if it's for a girl's first name I would go Darcey. Don't like Darcie.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 19/10/2020 12:09

I'm not a huge fan and in scotland I'd be a little concerned about how much it sounds like "arsey".

If you would like to use it, I'd go with Darcy

notalwaysalondoner · 19/10/2020 19:14

I prefer Darcy as I think otherwise she'd always be correcting people - but actually think Darcie 'looks' prettier written down..

DustyLoafer · 19/10/2020 21:13

Either way it's quite common around here, as somebody else said it's become 'chavvy'.

Love Dulcie though.

Lola236733 · 08/04/2024 22:46

Darcii is another spelling, unique

35andThriving · 08/04/2024 23:36

I think Darcy would be how I would spell it.

I would suggest Dulcie as an alternative, which I love.

SmoggyCarolSecondComing · 09/04/2024 10:54

Dahrchy is a much more unique spelling, I find. Wish I could name my daughter that! You're very lucky and have been blessed, and cursed at the same time! Lol
