Summer?

We don't know what we're having yet, will find out in a few weeks.

However, me and the OH have been discussing names, have been for a long time.

He is set on the name Summer for a girl. I love the name, I just worry about it with his surname.

Does Summer Streak sound okay? Or does it sound too... stripper? Or as my friend said, sounds like a superhero!

I would avoid anything like that and think classic.

I actually read it as Summer Steak and it made me think of bbqs... that’s me though, food constantly on my mind

Maybe as a middle name? I know you sort of have the same problem still but middle names aren't used very much so it matters much less

I used to think it' was a bit naff but it's grown on me. It's.not that far off from being mainstream.

I really love the name but definitely not with the surname. I agree you will have to be quite selective, I’m not sure about Fleur either. Alice works I think because it’s more classic.

Summer is really nice but not Summer Streak. I agree a classic name might be easier to match with your tricky surname. Alice is ok but it runs together a bit for me with the surname.

In your op you say OH and not husband, is Streak your surname? If not I would use your surname or double barrell. Why lumber a child with a difficult surname when it's not even it's mothers name?

No ! Images of naturist beaches (not at all against them) sprang to mind ! Not something to lumber someone with.

@emilybrontescorsett our son has his surname, and we're getting married next year (was supposed to be this year, thanks Corona!), so I wanted us all to have the same surname.

Unfortunately my OH is quite picky and likes slightly unusual names, hence having another daughter called Ebony! We did have a chat and I have managed to convince him out of using the name Summer.
He now has Piper, Isla and Rose on his list!

I like the name Piper. Unusual but not silly, and is pretty.

I love Summer but it doesn't go well with your surname in my opinion, which is such a shame.

Summer is a bonny name but I'm afraid Summer Streak together isn't doing it for me.

Summer is a lovely name but unfortunately doesn’t go well with your surname . We know someone called Summer Rash which sounds like something you’d catch in Ibiza 😳

Can you hyphenate your names ...would that work? Might give you more options
