What do you think of this name? Is it usable.

hmmm it's a bit long and a bit fancy, and is it a disney princess?
Personally I'd not. Maybe consider Josephine? It's long but is actually one less syllable.

or Sophie. has similar sounds.

itsjakeandamy · 07/10/2020 22:28

I think it's usable.
It's a bit flowery for me and I prefer Seraphine but it's certainly usable

MrsSnarget · 07/10/2020 22:29

It's very pretty. I have met an 8 yr old Seraphina, it was no different to saying Isabella, just not as prolific.

Séraphine is also an option.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 07/10/2020 22:32

Beautiful name, I went to school with one. She was known as Phi and Seri

VenusClapTrap · 07/10/2020 22:33

Too frilly for me. I know one - it doesn’t suit her at all.

Mischance · 07/10/2020 22:34

It's cute!

raskolnikova · 07/10/2020 22:35

I've always liked it. I know of one, so it does get used.

Weaverspin · 07/10/2020 22:44

She’s the chief witch from Philip Pullman’s Northern Lights. Seraphina Pekkala. Possibly Serafina.

Kanaloa · 07/10/2020 22:48

I think it’s useable and quite nice as well.

Liftupthereceiver · 07/10/2020 22:52

Taught one a couple of years ago, she was known as Sephy.

percheron67 · 07/10/2020 22:53

Classic. Absolutely delightful.

CoffeeInAnIV · 07/10/2020 23:01

It's useable and nice but it's not my style.

DramaAlpaca · 07/10/2020 23:39

It's a beautiful name, unusual but definitely useable. Not by me though, it's too long and frilly for my naming style.

Blavatskyite · 07/10/2020 23:44

And drop-dead gorgeous and Ice-cool.
AlwaysLatte · 07/10/2020 23:51

Lovely name, very classic.

JM10 · 07/10/2020 23:57

I like it. My only concern would be would people call her Sera, which sounds like Sarah. Nothing against Sarah, but if you're going for Seraphina, Sarah probably wouldn't be on your list. I suppose you can push other nicknames though.

Auto · 08/10/2020 09:17

Seraphina is a lovely name. I wouldn't use the f spelling (reminds me of Fina petrol stations).

mrsrobin · 08/10/2020 09:18

lovely :)

ZebraKid71 · 08/10/2020 10:24

It's too frilly for me but totally usable. There were actually two in a baby group I took my eldest to once - I've never heard it in real life previously or since! I like the range of nickname options.

ifiwasascent · 08/10/2020 12:07

I love this name I've recently added it to my list!

RuthW · 08/10/2020 12:12

It's lovely

MikeUniformMike · 08/10/2020 12:40

Too frilly for my taste.

SeanCailleach · 08/10/2020 13:02

Love it, gorgeous name.

JemimaTiggywinkle · 08/10/2020 13:13

I really like it, having read northern lights.

But it is quite unusual and I would be worried about your daughter constantly having to repeat her name. And explain that it’s all her first name and she’s not saying “Sarah Fina”.

Annasgirl · 08/10/2020 13:16

I love it. DN took it for her confirmation name and I thought - oh if I had known about that name I would have used it (had I also had more than one DD Grin. Use it, it is beautiful.

And also word of advice - never, ever, share your preferred name for your baby with people until you give the child the name - someone will always say something awful about it if they feel they can change your mind (or maybe that is just my MIL).
