Pregnant with #2 really struggling to find names

Is this common? I feel like I used my favourite name for our son so boys names are even harder. He is called Bodhi. If anyone could suggest some that would be helpful.

So far we have -

Frances (Frankie)
Ziggy
Joy
Sunny
Nancy
Nina

Nothing is standing out tbh.

Omg I had to comment! This is my exact situation! I've used my favourite name on my first born son... he's called Bodhi. And I'm now pregnant with number 2... he's still nameless. I feel your pain! X

iloveyoubutilovememore · 06/10/2020 10:26

Thanks ladies for the suggestions.

@sunyla - I am def swaying more towards Sunny as it goes so nicely with Bodhi. I love Sonny for a boy but a friend used it recently for her son so feels a bit odd?

@mamah2019 - wow! How far along are you? I'm only 10 weeks but starting to think about names and stressing a bit because we can't seem to agree on any at all. I don't particularly want to use another 'out there' kind of name, but then don't want a Harry or George, it just doesn't go nicely together.

@iloveyoubutilovememore I'm 28 weeks on Thursday, I know I'm having another boy but to be honest it's made it harder because I don't like any boy names as much as Bodhi. Everything feels really meh in comparison.

We like names like...
River
Casper
Dusty
Silas
Ozzy
Phoenix
Rio
Sol

But nothing feels spot on.

iloveyoubutilovememore · 06/10/2020 10:35

@mamah2019 totally get where you're coming from! A friend said she felt the same and waited until the baby was born, then she knew what she liked for him. I like Phoenix too. Love River but becoming so common. Sol is nice!

@iloveyoubutilovememore I really like River and I think it's our all else fails default name. But tbh I'm not over the moon with it, like you said it's becoming popular and I know boys and girls with the name which makes it feel even more popular. I also feel it's a possible very typical pairing with the name Bodhi.

Bodhi is a hard name to beat! Good taste haha xxx

sammylilac · 06/10/2020 10:47

Love the name Bodhi. Wanted to use it for DS.

I think one syllable names would work well.

Sol.
Ray/Rae.
Joy as you mentioned is great.

What about Cosmo for a boy?

Bodhi & Doyle? Wink

Seriously, though, what about Bodhi and Zachary?/Bodhi and Zak?

PlantPotting · 07/10/2020 08:47

Love Bodhi @iloveyoubutilovememore @mamah2019 excellent choice

Love River. Also like names like Fox or Forrest or how about Marley?

How about a really underused yet traditional name. I think that would match Bodhi in that it's rare but be not too matchy because it's traditional

Nathan Nathaniel Nate

@iloveyoubutilovememore @mamah2019
I also had this dilemma with DC1 being Bodhi! Luckily DC2 was a girl and we had a name for her but if she had been another boy they would have been Reef. We also loved Ocean and River but also rejected that as being too popular. Congratulations both of you!

PlantPotting · 08/10/2020 07:16

How about Reign (pronounced Rain)

bridgetreilly · 08/10/2020 09:03

How about Reign (pronounced Rain)?

As a name, it’s usually spelled Raine.

FizzyGreenWater · 08/10/2020 10:02

Minka for a girl, Iggy for a boy

danascully96 · 10/10/2020 07:19

I know a toddler Bodhi! He has all brothers, though, so let me think. Hmm...

Frances (Frankie) is very cute!
In my country, Nancy is considered an old lady name, but I gather it’s different in the U.K. and I bet it is due a revival 🥰
Not a fan of Ziggy, Sunny, or Nina unfortunately.

Suggestions (not sure if all of these fit stylistically):
Juno
Anna
Allison nn “Sunny”
Phoenix
Mia
Nell (Like the great HBCarter)
Sabrina nn “Bree”
Eliza
Willow - I really like this with Bodhi!
Violet
Lara
Keira
Athena

Hope this helps!! 🥰 Congratulations!
