Daniel or Thomas?

We are opting for a slightly more common name for our son, as we already have a pretty unique surname (Pylarinos). So which of these two do people prefer? I’m leaning towards Daniel as I think Dan sounds stronger than Tom. Thanks

I think Daniel.

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 05/10/2020 11:08

Daniel. Although Thomas doesn't rhyme with your surname the ending sounds are too similar IMHO.

Daniel (lovely name) and I agree it sounds nicer with your surname too.

mallowa · 05/10/2020 11:15

Daniel!

PlantPotting · 05/10/2020 13:17

Love both and think they sound equally strong to me

Kanaloa · 05/10/2020 13:19

Both are nice. I like Thomas the best but you can’t really go wrong with these two names.

GaraMedouar · 05/10/2020 13:22

I like both but I think Dan goes better with your surname.

emmathedilemma · 05/10/2020 13:32

Love both but I think Daniel is best with your surname.

Thomas and Tom are strong names. They've stood the test of time. I have this name going back for generations in my family. I like Daniel but not as much.

daisydalrymple · 05/10/2020 13:45

Love them both. I have one, but the other was on our short list. Grin also think they found fab together in either order, so if you’re planning a middle name, you could go with them both??

Firebird83 · 05/10/2020 13:49

Daniel sounds better with your surname

danascully96 · 05/10/2020 17:55

Anappleaday1 · 05/10/2020 18:11

I much prefer Thomas (and Tom)

MikeUniformMike · 05/10/2020 20:15

Prefer Tom but both are fine.

BingoGo · 05/10/2020 20:18

Like both names, but really like Daniel. It was a name we considered for our twins. So my vote is for Daniel.

happymummy12345 · 05/10/2020 20:23

I say Daniel, because that's my sons name. It was the only boys name both my husband and I wanted for our son. It was decided from when I was about 7 months pregnant if we had a boy (didn't find out until the birth) his name would be Daniel, 100%.

Personally I'm not too keen on either nickname so ds is Daniel never Dan or Danny (no offence meant just my opinion). But I know most people seem to like them.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 05/10/2020 20:25
