Thoughts on Taylor?

Could be hormones, but this is my favourite boy name right now, no idea why. We have already decided on a middle name of Samuel or Joseph, with surname Lloyd. What do people think of it? Cheers

possibly a bit too close to tailor made?

mrwalkensir · 04/10/2020 19:10

maybe Taylor as the middle name

ScottishLassie91 · 04/10/2020 20:22

I have a cousin called Taylor. Shes a girl but my Auntie picked this name as it was unisex and would have called a boy it also. Likewise, I also knew a boy named Taylor.
I like it 😊 x

icode · 04/10/2020 21:04

Really don't like it, sorry.

It was seen as a naughty boys name back in 2002.

Fozzleyplum · 04/10/2020 21:16

I really don't like it, and Taylor Lloyd is clunky to say - too many Ls close together.

WiserOwl · 04/10/2020 21:19

No. Awful. Sorry. Taylor and Tyler are both awful.

Sunnydaysstillhere · 04/10/2020 21:22

My ds Taylor is 26 this year!!
No regrets!

Oneandabean · 04/10/2020 21:26

I’d be hesitant to use Taylor for a boy as Taylor swift is so popular it could lead to comments being made.

formerbabe · 04/10/2020 21:28

I see it more of a girl's name...very American. I really like it for both sexes though

KnightError · 04/10/2020 21:28

It's a resounding no from me.

MothershipG · 04/10/2020 21:32

Lovely name but unfortunately doesn't flow well with your surname, it feels like it sticks to the roof of my mouth. Sorry

Kanaloa · 04/10/2020 21:38

I really like Taylor as a name but I think Joseph Lloyd flows better than Taylor Lloyd. It is a nice name though and it doesn’t sound awful together.

emptyshelvesagain · 04/10/2020 21:40

I think it's had its day tbh, it doesn't fit with the times

TokenGinger · 04/10/2020 21:44

@Kanaloa

I really like Taylor as a name but I think Joseph Lloyd flows better than Taylor Lloyd. It is a nice name though and it doesn’t sound awful together.
I disagree on Joseph Lloyd flowing nicely. As I said it whilst reading, it sounded like Joseph Floyd and I think he'd be forever correcting people on the phone.
cactusdog · 04/10/2020 21:49

I really like it, a nice boys name although I find it hard to imagine a man called Taylor for some reason.

Kanaloa · 04/10/2020 21:57

I didn’t think of it sounding like Joseph Floyd. I just find Taylor Lloyd ends up sounding a bit L heavy in the middle.

theresaplaceforus · 04/10/2020 22:05

I prefer it as a girls name to be honest.

EarlGreyJenny · 04/10/2020 22:06

Not keen on the name and it doesn't flow well. Joseph much better.

passthemustard · 04/10/2020 22:12

Well I like it!

And I think it's fine with your surname too!

daisypond · 04/10/2020 22:15

No. It’s not good for either a boy or a girl.

lljkk · 04/10/2020 22:20

I know lots, both sexes, & think it's fine.

FrillyLampshade · 04/10/2020 22:21

I work in school admin and surnames used as first names....Taylor, Mason, Riley..... cause no end of confusion.

Tillygetsit · 04/10/2020 22:43

I really dont like the sound of both names together. Very L heavy.

Firebird83 · 04/10/2020 22:45

It’s quite dated now, very early 2000s. I’m not keen.
