I lean towards Frederick as I prefer Fred/Freddie to Nick, but want to know what some people think before I make a final decision. The middle name will be Alastair. Kind regards

I prefer Frederick but they're both nice.

Ellmau · 04/10/2020 16:41

I prefer Nicholas.

Babydust13 · 04/10/2020 16:42

I like Nicholas

They will almost certainly be know as Fred / Freddie or Nick / Nicky so I would definitely base your decision on that.

I love the name Frederick. If I met one, I’d certainly use the full Frederick, if he was agreeable, as it seems a shame to waste such a super name!

I have a Nicholas so my vote goes there, he was Nico when young if that makes a difference. Frederick is also lovely.

Frederick

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/10/2020 17:22

Nicholas

Both would be on my list, but used as full names. For my DC I kept their full name rather than use a shortened version.
Fredrick Might be nice with your middle name

AdaColeman · 04/10/2020 17:24

Both lovely, but my favourite is Nicholas

WettnWild · 04/10/2020 17:25

Love Nick or Nico on a boy. Far too many Freddies around.

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 04/10/2020 17:29

There are masses of Freddies around at the moment so Nicholas. I love Nicky for a little boy.

Firebird83 · 04/10/2020 22:49

Definitely Nicholas.

DramaAlpaca · 04/10/2020 22:51

I much prefer Nicholas, it's an underused classic.

I don't like Frederick or its diminutives at all.

RepeatSwan · 04/10/2020 22:52

Nicholas Smile
