After many late night discussions, shortlist for our baby girl due early 2021 :)

Which name do you prefer and why?

Thank you!! Flowers

Both lovely, but I think Juliet edges it

KurriKawari · 03/10/2020 15:43

Both beautiful names. I like them both but if I had to choose I would say Juliet because its nice regardless of how old the person is, Felicity suits a more older person.

DramaAlpaca · 03/10/2020 15:46

Felicity I think. I love the diminutive Fliss.

I love Juliet too, as long as it's pronounced JOOLyet with the stress on ths first syllable, not Juli-ETTE.

CaffiSaliMali · 03/10/2020 16:14

Both nice but I prefer Juliet.

BikeTyson · 03/10/2020 16:14

Prefer Felicity but they’re both lovely

PlantPotting · 03/10/2020 16:58

Felicity by a mile for me
Juliet is nice but so often gets shortened to Jules whether you like it or not

PlantPotting · 03/10/2020 16:59

Felicity is a lovely name with great nickname options

Oneandabean · 03/10/2020 17:31

Felicity is pretty and fliss/flick are lovely nn. Juliet is ok but jules/ju aren’t nice at all and it will get shortened

Serin · 03/10/2020 17:35

Felicity.

englishbreakfast · 03/10/2020 17:35

I really like Felicity. Juliet is nice but a little boring. And agree with others, nn for Juliet aren't great.

TempsPerdu · 03/10/2020 17:39

Much prefer Juliet - it’s classic, elegant and less ‘Pony Club’ than Felicity. Jet and Ettie are other possible nicknames to swerve Jules (which I agree isn’t great).

missmouse101 · 03/10/2020 17:41

Juliet is lovely. Felicity is very dated, frumpy and a bit of a mouthful.

katy1213 · 03/10/2020 17:42

Felicity, especially as so many people struggle to pronounce Juliet.

daisypond · 03/10/2020 17:46

Felicity, I think... But it’s very close.
I like Juliet but prefer Julia.

ellenpartridge · 03/10/2020 17:49

Juliet

ComicePear · 03/10/2020 17:51

Juliet

SilenceOfTheEmu · 03/10/2020 17:52

Juliet

CakeIsMyFavouriteAndBest · 03/10/2020 17:56

I have a Juliette who unlike previous replies does not get shortened to Jools ever (and as she's 10 there's been plenty of time for it to have happened) and also no-one has any problem pronouncing it or spelling it.
Love it as its not too popular so not many around but its a name everyone knows.

CatteStreet · 03/10/2020 18:00

Felicity is lovely, and a wonderful meaning. Not keen on Juliet at all - the name itself is OK, but she's the heroine of an absolutely tragic story. Not a nice association IMO.

AegonT · 03/10/2020 20:34

They are both great names but I personally just love the sound of Juliet.

Auto · 03/10/2020 21:46

I like both but really dislike Fliss and Flick as nicknames, so for that reason prefer Juliet.

ifiwasascent · 03/10/2020 21:57

Felicity!

Angel2702 · 03/10/2020 23:05

I like both but Felicity has risen in popularity recently so I’d probably go with Juliet. I’ve not met any Juliets younger than me.

DumpsterBagel · 03/10/2020 23:27

Juliet is lovely, and would be unusual where I live.

Peccary · 04/10/2020 07:46

I call my Juliet J for short but mainly use her full name. future nicknames are her business

I do like Felicity though, lovely meaning
