if you're not religious? I like it but keep thinking it might be a bit too biblical.

Just no.

LunaLoveFood · 02/10/2020 21:32

No definitely not.

How about Jonah?

ooohbananas · 02/10/2020 21:33

I like it!
Also,
Jude or Jonah

BuffaloCauliflower · 02/10/2020 21:34

I knew one years back and I think it’s quite nice. Not my choice but more interesting than the commonly used Joshua, but not really out there. I’d say it’s equally religious as Jonah, but Jonah is more common.

NailsNeedDoing · 02/10/2020 21:34

No.

Jude is ok though.

chunkyrun · 02/10/2020 21:34

I love it

NannyR · 02/10/2020 21:34

I really like it but it does seem a bit more religious than other biblical names like Daniel, Adam, Joseph.

BuffaloCauliflower · 02/10/2020 21:34

Also I don’t think it’s excessively biblical, no more or less than Jonah.

PestymcPestFace · 02/10/2020 21:36

Judah and Judas don't seem to go down well.
As mentioned above Jude is generally acceptable.

BlackLambAndGreyFalcoln · 02/10/2020 21:36

I like it and know one, but both his parents and I are practicing Christians.

TheRIDs · 02/10/2020 21:42

It’s beautiful, very strong....but it immediately makes me think of Rastafarians, twelve tribes of Israel, lion of Judah etc. Depends if that’s your vibe!

RedMarauder · 02/10/2020 21:54

No unless you are a multi-millionaire.

BuffaloCauliflower · 02/10/2020 23:43

@PestymcPestFace

Judah and Judas don't seem to go down well. As mentioned above Jude is generally acceptable.
Judas has entirely different connotations to Judah.
Thymeout · 03/10/2020 12:32

Isn't Jonah known for his bad luck? 'He's a Jonah,' would be the person most likely to jinx an enterprise.

Agree with pps who associate Judah with Rastafarians.

Quizeerascal · 03/10/2020 12:37

I like it, I've come across a couple in Christian families. Prefer it to Jonah and definitely to Judas

TheWashingMachine · 03/10/2020 12:43

Awful

JudyGemstone · 03/10/2020 12:44

If you're black yes.

If you're white no.

dontmesswiththeGC · 03/10/2020 13:35

Love it! Would have been my first choice boys name if someone close to me didn't already have a Judah. Not sure why it's 'religious', no different to having an Isaac or Noah, both of which are far too popular for my liking.

newstart1234 · 03/10/2020 13:36

Not my cup of tea, but not ugly certainly.

Whokilledthesucculent · 03/10/2020 13:38

I love it.

caringcarer · 03/10/2020 13:46

I prefer Jude and Jonah.

Antonin · 03/10/2020 14:42

I think of Judah as being more Jewish than Christian. Apart from possibly having difficulties in travelling to some Islamic States I cant see any problems. A lovely strong name.
