Would you struggle knowing how to pronounce this name? Or is it a non issue?

My understanding is it's pronounced 'tay-ah'
Please correct me if I'm wrong!

I'd assume it was tea-ah and short for Teresa or Dorothea or something.

My eyesight isn't very good so i would probably say 'tee'.

Yes to tay-ah. Although that's thanks to Terry Pratchett's assassin Teatime, pronounced 'Teh-ah-tim-eh', which probably isn't the best association...

Honestly, i would say Tee-ah. (The accent over the E is likely to get lost at times).

And it is very hard to type on a computer keyboard, not many people know how to do an e acute. It's OK on a phone though.

But why give you kid a name that is hard to type (assuming you are not in France?)

I am more used to it being spelt Thea.

But of course many people would not pronounce that the French way here.

I wouldn't saddle my kid with a tricky name that's why I'm asking.

Yes, I'm of french heritage but I don't think that has much bearing. I don't think a name belongs to countries but I do appreciate its perhaps too hard outside France

I agree that names don't belong to countries, but in France Thea would be pronounced with a T sound at the beginning, and in the UK with a TH sound.

Actually here it is generally pronounced Th-ee-ah, but in France Tay-a

I would say Taya but agree about the accent getting missed. I would consider an alternative spelling if you've got your heart set on it.

When I first looked I thought Tia as in
Tia Maria.

If you like Taya why not call her that?

Not all computer systems support accents in the U.K. because they aren't used in English. I wouldn't spell it Tea, I m on my phone and no accents are available! Thea is a lovely name

I would say Tea like the drink. If it was spelt Thea I would say it like fe-a, with a th soft F sound

It looks lovely. Accents are a PITA for lots of reasons though. Shame because I really like it.
