Names we currently have on our list:
• Vivienne/Vivian (not sure on spelling)
• Audrey
• Tess
• Margaret

Not utterly in love with any yet. If we like these, do you have any other suggestions to add to our list?

hmm,
sorry, really not keen

Vivienne (prefer this spelling) sounds a bit over the top, but pretty. Viv is horrible though.
Audrey - meh, sound smiddle aged
Tess. I like this, but I there are no options with it. No variations etc, to give the child room to have a nn if they want. Can it be short for anythign?
Margaret. No, not a fan. Maggie, Peggy, both awful

20viona · 01/10/2020 14:42

Awful sorry.

Garcellesaidwhaaat · 01/10/2020 14:46

Tess is my fave from your list.
Audrey conjures images of blue rinses before Hepburn.
Margaret is just Thatcher for me and I think its too early to bring it back, imo.
Vivienne is nice. It makes me think of elegant old Hollywood glam on one side (Vivienne) and old men on the other (Vivian).

Garcellesaidwhaaat · 01/10/2020 14:46

Tessa, Thea?

Auto · 01/10/2020 15:33

Margaret would make a change. Margaretta is also nice and Greta a good nickname.

ComicePear · 01/10/2020 15:37

Tess is my favourite from your list - gorgeous!

For other names, how about Elizabeth

Clara

Love Audrey and Margaret!

Chocchoc2020 · 01/10/2020 22:28

Love Tess. Got one of my own!

DramaAlpaca · 01/10/2020 22:28

I like Vivien/Vivienne. Not Vivian, that's a male name.

I like Audrey and I adore Tess.

As for Margaret, not so much, but it has lots of diminutives so it's very flexible.

TempsPerdu · 02/10/2020 12:19

Vivienne/Vivian - not terrible but too frilly and girly for my taste. Definitely Vivienne over Vivian, which is usually the male form.

Audrey - bit of a split personality name as I never know whether to think ‘Hepburn’ or ‘Roberts’. Somehow manages to be vintage chic and incredibly frumpy at the same time! But frumpy still wins out for me.

Tess - love Tessa. Tess is a bit too short and doglike for me. Better as a middle name I think.

Margaret - strong and genuinely classic, it will come back but not just yet. I think Thatcher still ruins it for many people but it is beginning to be reappraised by people braver than me (DD is called Greta, which I still love, but I’d never have gone with the full version!)

Juliet
Vita
Sylvia
Delphine
Frida
Honor
Helena
Katherine
Esther
Celia

• Vivienne/Vivian (not sure on spelling) - Vivian is s boy's name, Vivien is my preferred spelling as Vivienne will get Vivvy Enne.
• Audrey - dislike
• Tess - love
• Margaret - fine
