Olivia 5
Emily 3
Rosie 4
Charlotte 2
Alice 1
Isabelle 6

All of those names are heavy in the Top 100 atm. There are tonnnnnnes of Olivias everywhere. I just moved out of a house with an Olivia under 10 either side of me.

Reclinehard · 24/09/2020 08:45

Have you considered Rosanna/ Rosalind etc? Good to have a choice between nickname and longer name.

If so, my preference would be:

Rosanna
Olivia
Isabelle
Emily
Alice
Charlotte

PlantPotting · 24/09/2020 08:45

Such a beautiful list. Love all the names on it especially Olivia, Charlotte and Rosie

Olivia still the number 1 name but it's numbers have practically halved in recent years so it's much less used than it used to be 5 or so years ago

PlantPotting · 24/09/2020 08:46

Oh Emily would also be one of my top picks

IslandLulu · 24/09/2020 08:50

Charlotte
Olivia
Emily
Alice
Isabelle
Rosie

Alice
Charlotte
Emily
Olivia
Isabel
Rosie

Olivia Isabel & Rosie are already hugely popular, so your daughter would probably be one of several in her school year. Have you considered alternatives such as Rosalie, Rosamund?

FippertyGibbett · 24/09/2020 09:22

Emily
Isabelle
Alice
Olivia
Charlotte
Rosie

Emily is a very feminine, classic name.

MercyBodle · 24/09/2020 09:34

From favourite to least (though they are all fine):

Rosie
Alice
Charlotte
Emily
Olivia
Isabelle (if spelt Isabel I'd bump it up above Olivia).

ellenpartridge · 24/09/2020 10:00

I can't rank them but it's a great list! My favourites would be Alice, Emily, Rosie and Charlotte. Those are all on my list this time/one is my daughter's name.

KeepSmiling89 · 24/09/2020 10:08
  1. Rosie
  2. Charlotte
  3. Isabelle
  4. Emily
  5. Olivia
  6. Alice

All beautiful names OP. All of those would be lovely as middle names too like Rosie Alice.

princesssparklesea · 24/09/2020 10:48

Charlotte
Olivia
Emily
Isabelle
(I like all of the above)

(And these names much less...)
Rosie
Alice

LotusClover · 24/09/2020 11:24
  1. Emily - one of my all time favourites. Timeless, classic, feminine without being too frilly, and just beautiful.
  1. Olivia - very popular at the moment, but pretty. Love this name. As long as the popularity doesn't put you off, it's a good choice.
  1. Charlotte - same as Emily really, timeless, fits all ages, and looks and sounds really pretty.
  1. Isabelle - I prefer the Isabel spelling, but either way it's too bland for me. And also really popular at the moment.
  1. Rosie - not keen. It's too cutesy and not a full name for me, it works better as a nickname for something like Rosanna. Rose and Rosa are much nicer alternatives.
  1. Alice - I've always really disliked this name, it has a harsh sound and is just really plain. Though it is timeless and fits all ages.
Ojj37 · 24/09/2020 11:35

Alice - one of my absolute favourites, it’s just a perfect name to me
Emily/Olivia - both timeless and beautiful
Isabelle/Charlotte - both lovely, but I don’t love them if that makes sense
Rosie - I’m not big on nickname names

Coco9876 · 24/09/2020 12:45

Thankyou for your feedback so far, goodness It's such a difficult decision isn't it, I think we're going to take Olivia off the list as it has been the most popular name for a number of years now and possibly isabelle, I'm not sure I love it as much as the others. That leaves Emily, Rosie, Charlotte and Alice to work with. I am wondering is Rosie is a bit too cute but I'm not keen on the longer versions unfortunately. I'm pleased to hear nobody thinks any of the names are ridiculous, Thankyou X

From your revised list:

Charlotte
Emily
Alice
Rosie (although I prefer Rose)

FippertyGibbett · 24/09/2020 13:11

Emily definitely.
You have to think about how the name will suit her when she’s an adult.

Pickles89 · 24/09/2020 13:20

Charlotte - beautiful name. Lottie rather than Charlie for NN though.
Rosie - If I'd had a daughter I would have called her Roseanna
Isabelle - Prefer Isobel spelling. Belle over Izzy as a NN.
Alice
Emily/Olivia - don't specially like either of these. I do like Ophelia though, which is much less common that Olivia. Romily is an unusual name too, without being 'made up', if you like Emily.

Write them all down with your surname, and see which flows best.

CatteStreet · 24/09/2020 13:24

Emily
Charlotte
Rosie (much prefer Rosa, though)
Isabelle (nice but done to death and I prefer Isabel)
Alice
Olivia

This is coming from a position of liking, but not loving (with the possible exception of Emily), them all.

Lockdownfatigue · 24/09/2020 13:29

Alice
Emily
Isobel (much prefer that spelling. If Isabelle that bumps it down to last)
Olivia
Rosie (FAR prefer Rose)
Charlotte

All very common names. Which are nice enough but don’t love any apart from Alice and Emily. Popularity would put me off, IMO it makes them nondescript. But plenty of people love those names or they would be so popular!!

Olivia
Emily
Rosie
Charlotte
Alice
Isabelle

Mish85 · 24/09/2020 14:46

Rosie
Alice
Emily
Charlotte
Olivia
Isabelle

mollyminniemo · 24/09/2020 15:00
  1. Isabelle
  2. Alice
  3. Emily
  4. Charlotte
  5. Rosie (love Rose but Rosie too twee for me)
  6. Olivia
sibbys · 24/09/2020 15:08

Alice
Rosie
Olivia
Isabelle
Charlotte
Emily

All really popular so she will probably go by first name + last name.
