Grace Evelyn or Aurelia Evelyn

I would also like to put in Joy....
However does this sound totally ridiculous with the first name Grace as they are both ‘virtue’ names
Does Grace Evelyn Joy sounds silly?

Other ‘third’ option is
Eva Aurelia Joy

Evelyn Or a variation of must be included but not as a first name - it’s my grandmothers name.

Any other ideas would also be welcome as I’ve three weeks left and stressing now!

Grace Evelyn Joy sounds lovely. I wouldn’t worry about 2 virtue names because realistically how often are you going to say her full name.

M0mmyneedswine · 23/09/2020 07:30

I like grace evelyn joy, most people wont know her full name so it doesnt matter about 2 similar meaning names imo. Not a fan of aurelia

blindmansbluff · 23/09/2020 07:33

How are you pronouncing Evelyn?

For me it's Evalyn which I think sounds lovely but not so keen on how the Eve-lin pronunciation flows with Grace

MikeUniformMike · 23/09/2020 07:33

I don't really like Evelyn, but it's an honour name so fair enough. I don't like Eva at all, and using Eva to honour Evelyn is a bit like saying you don't like Evelyn.

Not mad keen on Grace (the meaning is nicer than how the name sounds) and Aurelia is too frilly and princessy.

Grace Evelyn Joy is the best option, or you could just use Joy Evelyn

ComicePear · 23/09/2020 07:35

Grace Evelyn would be my choice.

Joy is lovely but I don't like two middle names, and Aurelia Evelyn is a bit of a mouthful too.

user1493494961 · 23/09/2020 11:39

Grace Evelyn, with or without Joy, lovely name.

AlwaysLatte · 23/09/2020 11:50

Aurelia Grace would be my choice but I'm guessing Evelyn is a family member you want yo name her after. They're all lovely names though.

Kanaloa · 23/09/2020 11:57

Grace Evelyn Joy is nice. As a pp said, you’re unlikely to call her by all three names so the two virtue names won’t matter.

SerenityNowwwww · 23/09/2020 11:58

You know ever use the middle names in anger anyway!

bridgetreilly · 23/09/2020 12:07

Joy Evelyn Grace would be my choice. Or just Joy Evelyn.

Inkpaperstars · 24/09/2020 00:43

I think lots of combinations could work but I would not combine Evelyn and Aurelia in any way, it just sounds very clumsy.

DramaAlpaca · 24/09/2020 00:47

Grace Evelyn Joy is really lovely.

janetmendoza · 24/09/2020 02:06

So how are you pronouncing Aurelia? I've hear 'OR'elia and 'OW'relia

MercyBodle · 24/09/2020 02:37

I think Grace Evelyn Joy is lovely and is my favourite of your options. I don't think 2 virtue names are a problem in this case. Grace is my favourite of your first name options. 2nd choice for first name is Eva, but I don't think it flows well with Aurelia.

theresaplaceforus · 24/09/2020 06:35

Thank you for your responses - Aurelia is a name that’s really hard to let go of because personally I think it’s so beautiful. It would be said or Ray lia
I’m glad for the comments about Grace and Joy being in the same name - Evelyn and Joy are both family names - I’d be happy to lose Joy but Evelyn is really important to have in there.

Anything that isn’t an Eve variant name or Grace. Both names are massively over used. I have two girls at secondary and there are hundreds. It’s the equivalent of calling your daughter Sarah in the 80s. The names are nice enough but so overused they are wallpaper names now. My friends with Eves regret it tbh

Trixie18 · 24/09/2020 06:43

Grave Evelyn Joy is a fantastic name 😍

MsTSwift · 24/09/2020 06:47

Also personally would avoid Grace - there are 4 my girls know and they are all on the large side so their names seem quite cruel.

ComeOnEileen11 · 24/09/2020 06:50

Aurelia Smile it's beautiful

Aurelia joy Evelyn?

theresaplaceforus · 24/09/2020 07:27

Hmmm @MsTSwift is Grace always linked to outward appearance?
I appreciate what you’re saying about popularity though but it’s the same with every other name - Isla, ava, Isabella, Lily, Evie, Poppy, Tilly there’s so many - as a teacher I’ve taught wayyyy more of these and never a Grace

Just baffling to me why most people choose the same 10 names?! There are lots of lovely normal names but the majority choose Eve Isabelle Amelia or Grace or a variant. At one point one third of the girls in dds class were called an Eve name. Terribly confusing

MsTSwift · 24/09/2020 07:37

Miranda
Zoe
Kate
Tess

All lovely names barely used in the sea of Eves Olivia Graces and Isabels

theresaplaceforus · 24/09/2020 07:39

I know it is strange but some of those names really are beautiful, can I assume your girls have very unique names? @MsTSwift

MsTSwift · 24/09/2020 07:53

Not top 10 no. I myself have a very popular name! In our local friendship group of 12 3 -4 of us all have the same names...

Polly99 · 24/09/2020 07:55

You are never going to say "Grace Evelyn Joy" (or any other full name) out loud so it really doesn't matter if the names sound silly or flow or whatever. The first name is the priority.

Call her Aurelia. It's pretty and unusual, works for a child and an adult and is quite "international".
