I have a Samuel Joseph, so very similar and I love it! Good solid name and works at every age. He was Sammy as a toddler, Sam now and can be Samuel if he wants to be at any stage.

Really nice! Not too popular or too unusual, just a nice strong name.

Lovely names. Samuel was very popular in the early 2000s so he will likely encounter lots of Sams in the generation above him when he enters the workplace but probably relatively few in school.

I love Samuel (biased!) but not keen on Joshua.

The more I say the more I’m wondering if it’s too many vowel sounds together? It’s two good solid names but the “uel” and “ua” are quite a mouthful next to each other......although how often does anyone say them at once.....probably not that often? Samuel Joseph sounds better.

Lovely Jewish names - as is Joseph. We have Sams and Joshua’s in our family - my son was nearly a Sam. Mazel Tov!!

Just be warned. I have a Samuel James. I might as well have called him “boy” the year he was born (2000) it was so popular. Twelve years later I had Leo Alexander. Same mistake. Youngest born in 2016 is a well known brand of cat food plus a Roman emporer middle name. Third time lucky? 😂

Still like all their names though!
