Cannot choose a boy’s name! Help!

It’s starting to drive me crazy. I like so many girl’s names but it’s a boy, so I’m stuck. I like relatively unusual but not completely out-there/stupid names. I’d like them to be the only one in their class, but I still want a lovely name. Please help.

I've seen Otis mentioned a good few times but I know thats grown massively in popularity recently, I even know someone who called their baby that 😊

God why is this so hard?? I think Malachi, Sebastian and Atlas are probably my favourite of the suggestions so far.

@Awwlookatmybabyspider I put Reuben as in over ten years of teaching I've never taught one! Must be just my area though

Sarahandduck18 · 21/09/2020 17:31

Pick a name that was popular in the 60s/70s/80s, will be unusual without being ‘out there’.

all of my 4 kids have always been the only ones in their class. And two of them have top 100 names! it's partly the luck of the draw.

Check the ONS lists - there are loads of great classic names down the bottom with only a handful a year. Those names are your best bet!

bridgetreilly · 23/09/2020 19:59

If you really want only one in the class you need to look at the baby name list from 30-40 years ago.

micc · 23/09/2020 20:59

@badg3r I have had the same.rhing happen! She was at my DDs nursery a year or too younger, and I said oh no way that's my daughters name! She looked so annoyed, I was like I choose it first my daughter is older! Hahaha
