Sister for Aurora help!

Looking for inspiration naming our little girl as we’re having trouble agreeing, need more options!

We already have an Aurora. We both love her name and she suits it perfectly. Want to avoid anything to similar (e.g. disney or anything that rhymes) or too different (e.g. Jane!)

Names I like my husband doesn’t: Juniper, Penelope, Clover, Dorothy, Daisy, Matilda, Delilah, Zelda, Eliza, Mabel, Ivy, Cassie

Names my husband likes I don’t: Paige, Faye, Eostre, Ciara, Freya, Pippa, Bryony, Aoife, Fodhla

He has Irish heritage and whilst I don’t mind Irish names I think they can be difficult to spell and pronounce when we don’t live or have close family in Ireland. I find the other options slightly dated (although know some of mine might be too); he doesn’t like mine as they are all ‘old lady names’!

Names that we can agree on are Skye and Piper, although I don’t know whether Skye is too theme-y with Aurora? Or Piper is too different. And that both of them will date fast. Although realise Aurora probably will too!

Would love some suggestions/ opinions for a sister for Aurora, don’t mind if you’ve not read the long ramble above anything is welcome, many thanks in advance! x

Skye and Aurora sounds very Disney princess. Like the next sib set for a Frozen spin off.

I would try to find a name that doesn't end in the same a sound if I were you so names like Eliza and Delilah would be out.

How about:
Rose
Vivienne
Lucy

I also like Skye with Aurora.

Maybe Stella is too themed?! But I like the name and it goes well.

Love this suggestion.
Champy87 · 22/09/2020 10:47

I really like sib-sets where their names have a connection but not immediately obvious so my suggestions would be;

Alba - dawn in italian/spanish
Eliana - Greek, daughter of the sun
Thea - greek goddess of light
Zora - slavic meaning dawn
Niamh - irish meaning bring and radiant
Clara - means bright
Estelle - meaning star
Luna - means moon
Nova - bright star
Selene - greek goddess of the moon

Champy87 · 22/09/2020 10:48

Sorry Niamh means bright and radiant.

:)

CallItLoneliness · 22/09/2020 11:03

I like Selene with Aurora, but I would spell it the french way (Celine). I also like Stella. Names that might also work Suvi (Sue-vee), a Finnish name that means summer (or just Summer), Helene or Helena, and Lucy.
