Top 4 girls - which one?

DD due in a few months. We've managed to reduce our list down to 4 but can't decide on the "one"

Which one would you choose out of these 4?
Athena
Sabrina
Verity
Talitha

DH's picks are the first 2 and I like the last 2. Appreciate they aren't to everyone's taste but we both want something more unusual but not too out there. Thanks!

Verity

Thanks so much everyone! Really interesting comments to take into account.
I think we will narrow it now to Sabrina and Verity as the top 2 and see what she suits.

The only association I had for Sabrina was the teenage witch, didn't know about the singer so thanks for pointing it out.
I do like Athena but it concerns me as we don't have Greek heritage and never been to Athens 🤭
Talitha is pronounced Ta-lee-tha like Tabitha but with an L. I do prefer Tabitha but DH says it's a cats name!

I prefer the last two names. Talitha is a very nice and little used biblical name, I like it.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 19/09/2020 08:15

Sabrina

VenusClapTrap · 19/09/2020 08:23

The Talitha I knew pronounced it Tal-eye-tha

Sabrina or Athena
I don't like Verity or Talitha.
I know an Athene and it's a very cool name that works for her. But I definitely personally find Sabrina the prettiest

CeibaTree · 19/09/2020 08:43

I like all of them except Verity! Shame your DH doesn't like Tabitha as that's a much nicer name than the others :) Anyway congrats on your little girl!

Sabrina to me is 100% the big-bosomed 1980s singer of "Boys Boys Boys". That was my first thought, her cavorting in the swimming pool In the video! It would put me right off, but probably only a very specific demographic of 1980s teens would remember her.
That said, I've just looked its origins up and
It means "from the River Severn" which surprised me - could be attractive to someone with Welsh or Bristol connections.

I prefer Verity - it's a much gentler, less brash name - in fact I see it at the opposite end of the scale, a gentle homemaker who likes to sit and embroider is the picture in my mind's eye! It means truth.

Not keen on Athena without any Greek connections. Talitha is ok (but Tabitha is much classier)

Sabrina, then Athena.

Reader1984 · 19/09/2020 09:00

verity

Sabrina definitely. I know a Sabrina and have watched the TV show, yet I think of my friend as completely different! Really, the Sabrina the Teenage Reference doesn't stick when you know someone with the name. It's lovely and the mythology is very cool!

Verity is beautiful

Garcellesaidwhaaat · 25/09/2020 10:33

Talitha

Verity is nice, dislike the others. (I also think of Sabrina the glamour model).
