Middle name for Aoife

Please can you help me with a middle name for Aoife.

At the moment we have Aoife Rose. It's pretty and goes with our short surname but can it be beaten?

Nothing too long or too traditional (Charlotte/ Elizabeth).

Thank you!

Rose and May are so overused. I do think one syllable is best though.

Aoife June
Aoife Hope
Aoife Belle
Aoife Skye

Lavenderblues · 15/09/2020 14:13

Is Aoife Irish? I had no idea how to pronounce it.

ElspethFlashman · 15/09/2020 14:15

then read the thread maybe?

Firebird83 · 15/09/2020 17:22

Aoife June
Aoife Mary
Aoife Grace
Aoife Jane

Firebird83 · 15/09/2020 17:23

Aoife Joy sounds great, I’d go with that!

ImaSababa · 15/09/2020 17:35

Aoife Joy sounds a bit like "here for joy" Confused

How about:

Aoife Caroline
Aoife Celeste
Aoife Magdalen
Aoife Rowan
Aoife Bryony

then read the thread maybe?

I did, and now I know how to pronounce it! Thanks.

Marmite27 · 15/09/2020 17:48

It’s pronounced Ee-fer.

giftponderings · 15/09/2020 18:00

Aoife Erin?

Aerielview · 15/09/2020 21:04

@Marmite27 No, it's pronounced Ee-fa

lemorella · 15/09/2020 21:14

@Aerielview I would have said Ee-fa too, not Ee- fer.

Aoife Joy is lovely!
If you wanted to go full Irish then Aoife Mairead ? The Mar-raid pronunciation, rather than the my-red although it depends where you come from!

Marmite27 · 15/09/2020 21:46
@Marmite27 No, it's pronounced Ee-fa
Not in the parts of Ireland I visit 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Marmite27 I'm Irish, I've lived in all four provinces, and I've never, ever heard it pronounced Ee-fer. It's pronounced Ee-fa

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 16/09/2020 10:21

Agreed, only ever heard it Ee-fah. Ee-fer sounds like an English mispronunciation

mediciempire · 16/09/2020 16:24

Aoife Rose is one of my favourite name combinations ever. I am nowhere near Irish but I love it.

lasangoles · 16/09/2020 16:24

Oooh yes to Mara!

Iloveme30 · 16/09/2020 17:15

lemorella · 16/09/2020 17:46

@mediciempire

It's beautiful isn't it. I'm stuck between Aoife Rose and Aoife Joy now.

I think it does need to be a one syllable middle name.
