Hi everyone ,
So after three boys I finally fell pregnant with a baby girl
All my boys have five letter , two syllable names ( kind of just happened for the first two )
Anyway our surname starts with beginning j so don’t want any first names b 🥴 I’m so stuck on a girls name
I do want to stick with the theme but can’t find any names I like
Until I stumbled on American names and tv shows
Piper ! My other half really Likes now it and telling people who also like it but I’m unsure 😐
Basically I’m in the uk and my three boys do have names that tend to be on American lists more , but are also popular uk
What does everyone think of the name piper ? Or any other ideas ? I personally think it’s harder for a girls name as chance they may get bullied more !

Not a fan of Piper but then not keen on American names. I like Lexie. I know a few kids called Lexi and although there is potential for sexy Lexi, I don't think it's that bad. Indie is very cute but would prefer it as a nn for India which is a lovely name. Not a fan of Heidi or Halle - close alternative, Hattie?

I hate it sorry

Purplecatshopaholic · 13/09/2020 21:04

A friends daughter is Piper, first time I had heard it, and I really like it

OptimisticSix · 13/09/2020 21:05

Love it, was my first choice for one of mine but vetoed by twat ex.... Hmm I wonder is 11 years old is too late for a name change 😂🤣😂

helpmum2003 · 13/09/2020 21:05

I just don't see Piper as a name although it does match your boys' names I think.

Heidi is gorgeous - feminine, classic, international.

What about Willow, Martha, Tori, Talia, Libby, Lottie

spacepoppers · 13/09/2020 21:07

I actually really adore the name Piper, I think it's so pretty.

tiredanddangerous · 13/09/2020 21:08

As in pied of Hamelin? No.

ImaSababa · 13/09/2020 21:08

Makes me think of the French "la pipe", which is what you're wanting to avoid with the initials BJ Confused

MuckyPlucky · 13/09/2020 21:11

Really not my cup of tea tbh. I don’t like any of the names like Rider/Ryder, Piper, Skyler.... I think it’s the -er at the end that seems odd to me, like a label or an occupation (teacher, plumber, writer, banker...)

OwlBasket · 13/09/2020 21:13

Piper has sex connotations for me too, sorry.

Aubry is lovely.

Magicbabywaves · 13/09/2020 21:17

Goes with your boys’ names

Megan2018 · 13/09/2020 21:19

I quite like Piper, not a name I’d use personally but I like it, sounds very feminine to me. I also think of Charmed but that’s nice.
Heidi is my favourite from your list. I’d have had it on my list but it was a friends name and she sadly died very young so it’s an “out of bounds” name for me as it’d be uncomfortable for my friends I think.

I’m not a fan of Halle. I know 2 Indy/Indie’s but it isn’t a full name for me, sounds like it should be short for something. Nice nickname though.

Heidi or Piper are good options I think, Piper probably fits with your boys best though.

villamariavintrapp · 13/09/2020 21:19

Makes me think of Piper Alpha, which is a sad association but maybe not well known now.

user1493494961 · 13/09/2020 21:21

I think it's awful.

tsmainsqueeze · 13/09/2020 21:25

Love it , i knew a piper ,really suited her .
Nice for all ages from newborn to adult.
Different but not pretentious .

Mishmased · 13/09/2020 21:28

Love Piper. My neighbor named her newborn Robin, I thought that was lovely and the other named hers Heidi.

Shelby30 · 13/09/2020 21:41

The main character in orange is the new black is called piper and that's what I'd think of so it's a no from me.

BikeTyson · 13/09/2020 21:42

There is a Piper at DD’s nursery, I like it!

OwlBasket · 13/09/2020 21:42

Might you like Sasha?

SleepingStandingUp · 13/09/2020 21:47

Charmed fan so I'm a fan of Piper.

What about Avery?

phatsandsmall · 13/09/2020 21:48

My daughters middle name is Piper. I wasn't brave enough to use it as her first name because of faces the in laws pulled when I suggested using it. Still love the name 12 years on and definitely think you should go with it Smile

SE13Mummy · 13/09/2020 21:48

I'm afraid I think of Piper as a dog name - I know more dogs than humans with the name.

Others that might work...
Alice
Chloe
Clara
Edith
Elsie
Freya
Hazel
Laura
Leila
Lucie
Megan
Norah
Polly
Sadie
Sophie
Tatum
Tessa
Willa

rooarsome · 13/09/2020 21:51

I'm not keen as I despised the character in OITNB, but not sure how many would have connotations with that show?

ncqtime · 13/09/2020 21:52

The animals, the animals, trapped trapped trapped and the cage is full...

Firebird83 · 13/09/2020 21:52

I don’t like it. It’s better than Lexie though.
