We’re not having a baby but I figured you all could help solve this debate between me and dh:-

Marcia:-

Mar see a or
Marsha?

Or can it be both?

I think it's usually "marsha" which is a bit unfortunate--"marsh" isn't the nicest connotation.

Thanks all.

Looks like it could be either but “Mar see a” (my choice) seems to be slightly more popular so I’m going to chalk that one up as a win!

Mar see a definitely!
I know someone called Marcia and Marsha! So I wouldn't pronounce them the same

Lavenderblues · 15/09/2020 14:11

In English -icia (Patricia, Alicia, Marcia etc) can be pronounced-isha or -eecea. Just tell people how you want it pronounced.

Cecelori · 16/09/2020 23:15

I'd pronounce it mar-see-ah and I like the name it's great

CoalCraft · 17/09/2020 06:57

Never seen that name before. I jumped straight to Mar-see-uh, but second thought was Marsh-uh
