Nell Primrose

Crylittlesister · 13/09/2020 12:24

Polly Matilda. I love Audrey but it doesn't sound right with your first name options IMO.

pepperaunt · 13/09/2020 12:30

Nell Primrose
Lucy Matilda

MikeUniformMike · 13/09/2020 12:38

It depends on the surname. If your surname is Gunn, you might want to avoid Polly Imogen

Polly - I'd choose this
Lucy - really like
Nell - nice but will be Nelly.
Sylvie - don't like

Middle names:
Imogen
Alice - too strong as a middle name
Matilda - overused
Robyn - too strong as a middle name
Martha - too strong as a mn
Mabel - no
Primrose - no
Audrey - don't like

@MikeUniformMike
Surname is H so I don’t think we’re at the mercy of too many dodgy acronyms...

Pick a first name that goes with the surname, and check that Initial Surname doesn't look silly. e.g. Sylvie Hatton would look like Shatton.

Pick a middle name afterwards, they don't really get used very often.
Of your list, only Imogen is the one that will go with all the FNs you've listed. Olivia would go with all of them too.

I quite like Imogen but dislike Immy, but as a MN it woukdn't get shortened.

Polly Imogen

Anni3getyourgun · 13/09/2020 16:36

Thanks for your votes. Polly Imogen is the frontrunner (and funnily enough has been for me throughout this pregnancy). There’s something about Nell Primrose I love too though...

Sylvie has been a late addition to the list and no one has voted for that, so maybe that’s pregnancy hormones talking!

I think Nell Primrose is lovely too!

The Nells I know are 15 and 10, one is an Eleanor and the other just Nell - she's often asked what Nell is short for, I guess it's a name people think of as an abbreviation for Penelope, Helen, Eleanor etc.

Falcone · 13/09/2020 16:53

Polly Robyn!

MochaTime · 13/09/2020 16:57

Oooh I vote for Sylvie! I vote Sylvie Primrose in fact. Sorry to be the wildcard!

Anni3getyourgun · 13/09/2020 18:10

@MochaTime don’t apologise, it’s nice to have someone in Sylvie’s corner!

Sylvie Mabel

Aristotleatemyhamster · 13/09/2020 18:17

I actually like Polly Primrose, but it might be a bit too cutesy.

Polly Imogen or Sylvie Mabel would be more realistic choices

shreddednips · 13/09/2020 18:24

I LOVE the name Lucy. Lucy Matilda is my favourite combo. I just think a 2-syllable name followed by a 3-syllable name trips off the tongue Smile

IckleBear · 13/09/2020 18:29

Sylvie Primrose!!

VioletCharlotte · 13/09/2020 18:31

I think I would go for Imogen as a first name. Otherwise Polly from your list, probably with Matilda for a middle name.

Shayisgreat · 13/09/2020 18:33

Another vote for Sylvie Primrose (or Imogen)

Anni3getyourgun · 13/09/2020 19:42

@Aristotleatemyhamster me too. But I think you’re right - cute on a little girl, but too cutesy on a grown woman.

Think the front runners are...

Polly Imogen
Polly Matilda
Nell Primrose
Lucy Matilda
Lucy Alice
Sylvie Primrose

Very story book but I love Polly Robyn. Such a happy name.
