Is Denham too out there?

Currently pregnant with baby #7 🤭
We aren't sure of the gender yet but Dennis is also on our boys list. I really like the nickname Denny but I feel like Dennis is too harsh and doesn't go with our last name. DH had a friend is school called Denham and I have mixed feelings about it. Opinions and suggestions appreciated!

Dennis was my great grandad’s name, nicknamed Denny, and he was a fantastic chap and the best of men. Go with it if you love it. Nobody else’s opinion really matters.

Slightly different spelling but reminds me of Denholm Reynholm from the IT Crowd . But, actually, joking apart I think it’s quite nice, different and not too out there. There was an actor, also spelt Denholm (Elliot) so maybe that spelling is more usual.

My first thought was that must be a place name.

Denholme is also an area of Bradford. Not pronounced Den-am, more how its spelt.

I prefer Dennis to all of the above suggestions.

It makes me think of the oddball boss in the IT Crowd (Denholm Reynholm!) and denim.

I actually like Dennis, and don't think it sounds harsh at all (I think of names with sharp Ts or Ks as being harsh, not names with Ns and Ss). If you don't want Dennis, I would go with Denny.

Denham is pronouced quite similarly to Denholm for most people - they'll still hear Denim.

I'm not a fan of the Jaden Kaden Hayden route either, sorry.

It’s just a bit too made up and chavy for me and sounds like you want to say Denim. Also Denny is a not particularly nice place near Falkirk!

I think of the town Denham...On the plus its next to Chorleywood and one of the posh areas in Hertfordshire !

If I heard someone introduce themselves as Denham I’d definitely assume it was spelled Denholm - it’s an uncommon but legit name - I happen to know someone with that name irl as well as Denholm Renholm in the IT Crowd and the late Mr Elliot.

Don't like it at all I'm afraid. I do however like Denny and I don't think Dennis is awful to call a child, but I prefer the Denys spelling, it was my grandpa's and I've never come across another one yet
