Short boys names

We have a very long complex surname so it sounds best with a short boys name. 2 syllables maximum.

I like more classic names (Ben,Tom, Harry) and DP likes names that are popular at the moment (Alfie, Dexter). The only name we can agree on is Max but that has been taken by a family member.

Any other suggestions we might like?

I had a similar issue - two surnames so we wanted to keep the first name short, plus I like short names. I love Max actually but couldn't use it.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I just can’t seem to love another name as much as I love max. I feel like everything I like the sound of is too ‘out there’ or too common.

From the suggestions I do like Ted, Drew and Alex. I suspect DH will disagree!
