I'm not pregnant but have plans to start TTC soon. I love thinking about names though! I think this name is so beautiful but I know it's not overly common! What's people's thoughts on this name? And does any one have any NN other than Lav which is awful but what it will ultimately get shorted too I guess?

Reminds me of Harry Potter - LavLav ...

LunaNorth · 23/08/2020 16:40

Yes, nice in theory but the Lav/Lavvy thing would deter me.

Violet is a safer bet.

ifiwasascent · 23/08/2020 16:40

Haha funny you should say that because I'm re reading the half blood prince now as she's in it quite a lot so maybe that's why I'm thinking of it so much!

Lavender is beautiful.

ParadiseLaundry · 23/08/2020 16:47

I think it's a beautiful name. I love the flower.

You could have L (Elle) ven or dede maybe. It’s a lovely name just not shortened to lav

ifiwasascent · 23/08/2020 17:16

L (Elle) is a great NN! Glad that I've got an option because I really do love it just worried me not having a NN!

Lovely name

PoodleMoth · 24/08/2020 00:23

A lovely name!

Bouncingbelle · 24/08/2020 00:51

It just sounds like lavy pan. Sorry. It would make a nice middle name tho.

whatausername · 24/08/2020 00:55

MATILDA! That was what screamed through my brain as soon as I saw the thread title. It feels a tad twee? I'd definitely use it as a middle name though!

Lav = toilet. So, no.
