Really like Sebastian and this would be my first choice with Jacob a close second. Like Noah if you don't mind the popularity. Benjamin is nice but I think Ben is a bit bland. Freddie OK but dislike Fred. Not keen on Roman.

GroupSects · 22/08/2020 22:07

They’re all pretty popular but your son is called Oliver so I guess that’s not an issue for you.

My favourite is Sebastian, the others are meh. Jacobs are just everywhere, same with Freddie.
Benjamin I just think- Bunny.
Noah is a bit boring.
Roman is ok, no strong feeling either way.

NaToth · 22/08/2020 22:13

I love Roman.

The others, not so much.

PlantPotting · 22/08/2020 22:16

I think Benjamin would go really well with Oliver and actually it's probably the least common out your whole list in 2020 as the numbers of baby Benjamin's have been dropping each and every year since 2002. By the time the 2020 statistics come out Benjamin be outside the top 50 whereas a name like Roman or Sebastian is on a massive upswing in the charts and both look set to be top 20 soon and those type of booming names are more likely to quickly date if that bothers you.

Names like Oliver and Benjamin have always been classy strong names. I'd go with Benjamin myself.

PlantPotting · 22/08/2020 22:17

I've also got a soft spot for Noah and Jacob too though and they would work well with Oliver

PlantPotting · 22/08/2020 22:18

I just think Benjamin is more underused these days so a bit more interesting than Noah
Both lovely names though

emilybrontescorsett · 22/08/2020 22:20

Benjamin or Jacob.

Shelby30 · 22/08/2020 22:20

I like Jacob from your list. My advice would be to seriously pick one in advance and give yourselves time to make sure you both like it.

We liked quite a few names but couldn't agree, some was more like well I cld live with that kind of thing. I just thought we wld know when she was here but if anything some names on the list we decided against and baby had no name for 2 wks. We picked my favourite (he gave in) but he said he doesn't really like it now which makes me quite sad about it as we both love our first born's name.

nc600 · 22/08/2020 22:22

Benjamin or Noah.

Or Joseph?

Dededa · 22/08/2020 22:23

Sebastian

MrsGilly1 · 23/08/2020 08:18

Oliver and Sebastian X

MikeUniformMike · 23/08/2020 09:04

Jacob - ok
Noah - No. Ah.
Sebastian (Seb) - dislike
Roman - No. Awful.
Benjamin - Lovely
Freddie - ok

theresaplaceforus · 23/08/2020 10:01

I really like Jacob, Noah and Sebastian in that order - I’m having a girl but Jacob was on my shortlist for a little boy.
I’m not too keen on the others, especially not Freddie as everyone is called Freddie!

Whatthebloodyell · 23/08/2020 10:07

Benjamin and Sebastian are my top
Two.

beautifulmonument · 23/08/2020 10:15

Jacob or Noah

Pushingnic · 23/08/2020 10:52

Thanks everyone. Yeah I guess I like popular names but I’m ok with that. I have unusual/unpopular name and hated it growing up so that might be why. Hated that I could never get the personalised rubbish in shops as a kid lol when all my cousins and friends could! Really appreciate the opinions, ideally would like to have a name picked well before the birth! It’s so hard! Annoying as we literally had one girls name straight away we both loved!

Jacob or Benjamin for me.

diddlediddle · 23/08/2020 11:34

If Freddie could be Frederick or Alfred then I like that. Not a fan of giving nicknames as full names.

Don't like Jacob or Noah, find them too bibly... But Benjamin is nice.

Not keen on Seb or Roman.

Ginandplatonic · 23/08/2020 11:38

Sebastian or Benjamin are great with Oliver. Or Alfred nn Freddie. I personally don’t like nicknames as full names.

Changedname81 · 23/08/2020 13:08

Benjamin is utterly gorgeous

4kidmom · 24/08/2020 06:29

I love Benjamin. Noah and Jacob are also really good names.

BorisandHarriet · 24/08/2020 06:43

Both my sons names are on your list, and my dog. You have excellent taste.

CasuallyMasculine · 24/08/2020 06:46

Sebastian but really don’t like the nickname Seb.

theseawolf · 25/08/2020 16:07

I like Benjamin (love the nickname Benji!), Sebastian and Noah.

Sertchgi123 · 25/08/2020 16:11

Jacob - love it
Noah - very common, I know loads
Sebastian (Seb) - quite like it
Roman - don't like it
Benjamin - prefer just Ben
Freddie - I know dogs called Freddie, so it puts m off
