Diana?

What do we think?

I love it as a name, love how pretty it sounds but also strong - similar vein to the Olivia's and Sophia's but very unusual I think just now.

Is it too dated / doomed Princess - especially as we're UK based? Though we don't live in England, not sure if that makes a slight difference.

I like Diana. Dinah is nice, Diane is dated.

I don't think the PoW connection matters. By the time your DD is at school the event will be a good 30 years old so only those 40+ will remember it. If they do hear of the princess it'll be something abstract and "old" to them. Rather like if the generation above me start talking about Grace Kelly. I've zero thoughts or feelings on the subject, it means nothing to me.

I think it's an underused, good name. Admittedly it's not really my cup of tea but I appreciate it for what it is.

Don't like the Die sound at the start
Freaks me out a bit and would hate that to be my nickname

JanewaysBun · 24/08/2020 20:12

Love it!
I was yoing when princess Di died so wouldn't really connect it. Diana is tht goddess of love I think?

janetmendoza · 24/08/2020 20:14

It's great!

LentilShanklet · 24/08/2020 20:17

Timeless, beautiful

Elllicam · 24/08/2020 20:26

I like it, I think of Diana from Anne of Green Gables.

VenusClapTrap · 25/08/2020 14:32

I love it. I also love Dinah.

namenerd · 28/08/2020 01:49

I actually think it is really pretty 😍 however you may get some strange looks from others 😂
What about Delilah, Dahlia or Dayna? Or you could go for something like Bianca which is similarly traditional but not as dated?
If you really like Diana though, I say go for it because it's about time it came back into fashion! ❤

I love Diana, gorgeous name. I have only ever known one Diana that I worked with years ago, I am really surprised it isn’t more popular. Classy and timeless, a great choice.

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 28/08/2020 07:01

it is just lady di
so am not keen personally

It’s pretty and not common in this generation. I think that makes it a win.
