Hi,

I have a daughter called Amelia and I like the names Ava and Eva but not sure which sounds better.

Thoughts please? X

I dislike both, and they are overused and nothingy.
Eve and Evie are much nicer

Whatsyourflava · 18/08/2020 11:25

I quite like using the same initials so I'd pick Ava

peachypetite · 18/08/2020 11:27

They are too similar imo!

mummy2myJJ · 18/08/2020 11:28

Like both, prefer Ava so they share an initial xx

ILoveStickers · 18/08/2020 11:48

I'd avoid the same initial and choose Eva.

Sootyandsweep2019 · 18/08/2020 12:07

I like both, slightly prefer Eva .

Katjolo · 18/08/2020 12:08

Both lovely names. I'd pick Eva though for different initials.

DramaAlpaca · 18/08/2020 12:26

Ava

emmathedilemma · 18/08/2020 12:30

I think Amelia and Eva is easier to say than Amelia and Ava which has too many As!

Felicityfi16 · 18/08/2020 13:35

I am swaying towards Eva as I think Ava is a bit of a mouthful with Amelia and I’m not too keen on same letter names!

Can anyone help with any other name suggestions? 😬

I would go for something of the same sort of length as Amelia. Olivia would be the obvious choice, and it is much nicer than Eva and Ava.

IndiaMay · 18/08/2020 15:33

Tbh there are so many of both names around they will forever being called the wrong name anyway

Ava & Eva are lovely
Ignore the posters trying to dissuade you completely Hmm

I'd go for Eva with Amelia

Thefaceofboe · 18/08/2020 22:00

Are you bothered about popularity? I know they are both popular names but I work in a large childcare setting and in the 4 years we’ve had loads of Evas/Evie’s but no Avas :)

DancingLady · 18/08/2020 22:23

Edie, Edith, Elodie, Eloise, Etta, Eden? Eva is very popular, Ava is pretty though. If you like names starting with vowels what about Ivy, Ida, Iona, Imogen...

Firebird83 · 18/08/2020 23:47

Eva is nicer

DoTheMaccaroni · 19/08/2020 00:03

Neither

MyNameIsAlexDrake · 19/08/2020 00:05

I like them both but think Eva goes better with Amelia.

Both so overused.
