Finally managing to cut down our list and these are my favourites. I realise they won’t be to everyone’s taste but what are your thoughts?

Hendrix
Madoc
Zephyr
Zephyrin

I like Madoc best of those, though I like Maddox better - sorry, I mentally combined your first two! Hendrix would be my second choice.

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 16/08/2020 21:36

I also think Maddox sounds better than Madoc.

From the list, I’d pick Zephyr

Whatsyourflava · 16/08/2020 21:37

Hendrix

DoTheMaccaroni · 16/08/2020 22:58

My friend is due to have a boy named Zephyr soon.. I love it! 🥰

DoTheMaccaroni · 16/08/2020 22:58

Hendrix is also amazing Grin

TinyMetalBirds · 16/08/2020 22:59

I like Hendrix best. But, it is also the only name from your list that I know children called that name - two - if that affects you.

user1493494961 · 16/08/2020 23:14

I'd start again with a new list.

HolyPillow · 16/08/2020 23:20

Madoc by far. (Do you know the Paul Muldoon poem?) Then Hendrix. Zephyrin last by a long way, as it makes me think of a brand of sleeping pills.

I was wondering how to phrase that myself.

Sorry OP, I can't find anything about any of those names I like.

whatausername · 17/08/2020 01:18

Zephyrin really does sound like pills!
Weirdly, I know of 2 Zephyrs and a friend had it on her list last pregnancy. Is there some cultural event that's completely passed me by!?

whatausername · 17/08/2020 01:20

Now I've clients in my head telling me "Ma doc says that..." 😂

whatausername · 17/08/2020 01:22

Go for Hendrix imo, it's the nicest Smile

Toohardtochoose · 17/08/2020 06:58

Thanks everyone. Hendrix would be my first choice but my husband really likes Zephyr or Zephyrin. You are completely right about Zephyrin sounding like a medication 🤣. Madoc is a welsh name so would definitely be that rather than changed to Maddox.

user1493494961 & BackforGood - no worries, I realise they’re not to everyone’s taste.

Madoc or Zephyr.

Hendrix is far too linked to Jimi for me to use.

Thymeout · 17/08/2020 08:03

Zephyr means a light breeze. Zephyrs 'waft'. It doesn't sound v masculine to me.

Madoc is the best of your list.

AdaColeman · 17/08/2020 08:11

Let’s hope that Zephyr never suffers from IBS.

Orphlids · 17/08/2020 08:13

It’s not really to my usual taste, but I can’t help but love Hendrix. I don’t think the association with Jimi is a bad one. It’s a very cool name. I’ve recently seen a few kids on Facebook named Hendrix, so I wonder if it’s going to suddenly become quite popular. If I were a man, I’d rather be named Hendrix than any of the other names on your list.

yikesanotherbooboo · 17/08/2020 10:14

Madoc ,are you Welsh?
Hendrix
Zephyr is pretty but a bit faddy
Not keen on Zephryn

GoingBackTo505 · 17/08/2020 10:17

If you went for Maddox instead then I'd say that. Otherwise, Zephyr.

Toohardtochoose · 17/08/2020 10:54

yikesanotherbooboo My husband is

@AdaColeman

"Let's hope that Zephyr never suffers from IBS."

Grin

Yes. I'm guessing Op has chosen the name for the nickname Zeph rather than Fartypants.
