Me and DH are expecting twins (boy&girl) and wanted to know what your thoughts were on these name pairs. (We want them to have the same letter)
DS- klaus
DD- Kitty

DS-Elijah
DD-Eden

DS-Sully
DD- Star or Sabrina

Thought or ideas??

Edward and Emelia/Emilia/Emme/Emma/Emily
Same initial but can shorten Edward to Eddie or Ted/Teddy

paap1975 · 14/08/2020 10:14

From the experience I have with twins, I don't think they'll thank you for the matching initials thing. Also, it would be a nightmare from administrative stuff, school, etc. Your children would be E. Bloggs and E. Bloggs. Confusing at best and could be the source of lots of problems.

Also, although the twins I know love being twins, they without fail hate being exclusively thought of as a duo. They are individuals and it is important to remeber to treat them as such.

Sorry, not trying to piss on your parade.

Twins have a very special bond. DH coached some twins at rugby and they were very different, almost nonchalent about each other. When one of them got injured during a game, the other went into full twin mode and it became clear just how strong the bond was.

motherofawhirlwind · 14/08/2020 10:18

How about something matchy-ish without being too obvious? So they still feel like individuals but alse a duo.

Klaus and Catherine (nn Kitty)
Klaus and Charlotte

Sullivan and Cecile
Sullivan and Celine

etc.

Flappingflamingo · 14/08/2020 10:32

Katherine and elijah

VenusClapTrap · 14/08/2020 10:37

Definite no to the same initials.

I like Kitty.

LaLoose · 14/08/2020 10:56

Hi OP,

I think some PP have been unnecessarily rude, these things are all a matter of taste.

What I do agree with, though, is the matchy-matchy thing. I write as the mother of girl-boy twins aged 11. Please don't do this to them.

Flappingflamingo · 14/08/2020 11:17

Sorry I meant katherine with the nickname kitty

ButterflyOfFreedom · 14/08/2020 11:58

Sullivan & Sabrina

Elijah & Eden

GinWithRosie · 14/08/2020 12:14

Solomon could be shortened to Solly or Sol. Similar sounding to Sully...and an actual first name.

RuthW · 14/08/2020 12:14

With the sane initial and dob they are very likely to get mixed up at medical appointments.

CaffiSaliMali · 14/08/2020 12:16

I would avoid the same initial for boy/girl twins. Although they're not the same sex, the same initial feels a bit matchy.

Elijah and Eden are the nicest pairings of your 3. However I think Sabrina is the nicest of your girls name choices.

Sabrina is well known but not overly common. I would pair it with a boys name which is well known but not overused - something like Edmund, Nicholas or Jasper.

MikeUniformMike · 14/08/2020 12:39

DS- klaus
DD- Kitty
Are you naming kittens?

DS-Elijah
DD-Eden
Elijah is too long and babyish and Eden is chav

DS-Sully
DD- Star or Sabrina
Just no. Sabrina is ok, but I'd save Star for a pony.

Feralkidsatthecampsite · 14/08/2020 14:10

If it's dkittens then surely it's Klaws?
Practice shouting out the names in the garden.
See how many dcats come running!!
Grin

Grufallosfriends · 14/08/2020 16:00

Klaws and Kitty 🐱

PoodleMoth · 14/08/2020 19:00

I like a lot of your girl options but not keen on the boys

Flappingflamingo · 14/08/2020 20:02

I quite like sabrina. But agree with everyone else, don't match initials. That was the first rule of the parents of twins I know, give them their own identities

BingoGo · 14/08/2020 20:04

Elijah and Eden are both lovely

BingoGo · 14/08/2020 20:07

I also have twins with the same initials, don't listen to the comments here if that is what you want

MrsWonderland · 14/08/2020 20:54

Klaus ... makes me thing Barbie or von Bulow. Both very very bad associations

Klaus and Kitty sounds like some kind of sex club (and I say that as someone who would have used the name Kitty if I'd had a girl!)

finallychangedmyusername · 14/08/2020 21:16

I like Nicholas and Catherine, nicknamed Klaus and Kitty.

Or Sabrina and Sullivan nicknamed Sabby and Sully.

I REALLY like Elijah but less keen on Eden. What about Emily? Elijah and Emily is lovely.

christinarossetti19 · 14/08/2020 21:28

I'm a twin and want to echo please don't give them first names with the same initials.

Try to find names the same length or same number of syllables but not 'matching'.

So Elijah and Sabrina, or Klaus and Star, or Eden and Kitty (from your list).

I have a friend with b/g twins called Zoe and Joe. Just one letter difference but pronounced completely differently.
