Edward! ☺️
Otherwise I really do like Theo.

Oh hang on, yes William + Edward = Windsor and Grundy.

Edmund is a lovely name and Edwin works too, it's a bit alliterative with William.

Has this helped @Mommy0boys2

Mommy0boys2 · 12/08/2020 07:10

Wow 😮 thanks everyone for the comments 👍🏻 Yesterday didn’t really go to plan (but when does it with kids lol) so didn’t get chance to reply as I’d hoped
Some of the names mentioned we really like but can’t have as family members Are called them or as someone pointed out “too royal” lol. The first child seemed a lot easier to name!

@lottiegarbanzo who are windsor + Grundy??

Ha, I was just randomly struck by the thought 'it's William and Henry (Harry) Windsor / Wales, not Edward, what was I thinking?'

William and Edward Grundy are characters in The Archers. Their names have always sounded like 'copying the royal family' to me but that may be because William is a similar age to Prince William.

Mommy0boys2 · 12/08/2020 07:28

@lottiegarbanzo lol. That explains why I couldn’t find it on google lol 😆

It’s seems Thomas and Edward have been chosen more.
It’s strange coz Oliver is meant to be really popular but we don’t know of many at all and maybe know of more Thomas’ 🤷🏼‍♀️

Approx 1/3 of my DC’s (8 and 11) male friends are called Thomas. I’m a Cub leader, last year we had 16 boy Cubs, of which 7 were Thomas. They know 3 Olivers between them.

Henry

itsgettingweird · 12/08/2020 09:56

I agree Thomas.

But I have one!

I also like Joseph, George and Oliver and Henry with William.

But it risks being very RF themed with some of the choices!

itsgettingweird · 12/08/2020 09:58

Oh and I also love Elliot as a name.

William and Elliot

William and Thomas

William and Joseph

They are my suggestions!

lottiegarbanzo · 12/08/2020 11:43

Oh yes, Joseph is lovely, or Jacob.

I like names like Raphael, Gabriel and Jude but not sure they 'go with' William so much. Sebastian could.

I do feel like Thomas has become the new 'John' in the sense of 'neutral boy name', just as Mary was for turn of the last century girls. Whereas John would be pretty unusual now! Goes nicely though and offers Jack as a nn. Bill / Will and Jack? Nice.

Mommy0boys2 · 12/08/2020 12:49

@BikeRunSki it seems we’ve chosen a popular name unknowingly then with Thomas lol

Mommy0boys2 · 12/08/2020 12:51

@lottiegarbanzo Jacob was also one on our “favourites” list 👍🏻

@BikeRunSki someone else pointed out we couldn’t have Benjamin because of Bill and Ben 😆 that’s why it’s good to have different peoples thoughts 👌🏻

Mommy0boys2 · 12/08/2020 12:55

We like Joseph, but have a friend called that unfortunately
We like Harry and Henry but they’re too RF to go with William 😂

Mamia15 · 12/08/2020 13:07

Didn't think of Bill n Ben 😆

James
Hugh
Louis

Cindie943811A · 12/08/2020 15:09

Both Edward and Thomas are good choices.
I’d go for Alexander or James or Sebastian myself.
